5/6/2026 11:48am my 2 cents after spending some time on the bike is that I really want to spend more time on the bike. A couple anecdotes here: I was surprised at how well it pedalled and the lack of heft that I was expecting after looking at it. After giving it back for a month I had to film on it with no time to get familiar again. First trail was a rapid North Van classic that I have ridden a bunch and I was immediately sending it. It was extremely poppy while still being planted, able to pull for all...

5/4/2026 11:57am If they're going to have a remote studio in the UK (which sucks) that at least means they could get Brits to commentate for way cheaper than having to fly them out to a race. Rob Warner, Rachel Atherton, Gee Atherton, Brendan Fairclough, Ratboy are all right there. They all either have way more commentating skill, have raced more recently than 1200 BC, or both. Ric wasn't that bad, but was definitely not "good", and whoever the new guy is was atrocious. He just repeated what Ric said, and said "when I was racing when the wheel was first invented"...

5/3/2026 8:43am Since Ronan is currently injured why not invite him to commentate using his ratboy impression. Hell invite ratboy too. Nobody would understand much but it would still be an improvement.

4/29/2026 11:54am I wrote this on Pinkbike but will crosspost here to as I firmly believe ABS should not be involved in WCDH. I'm all for innovation in DH and I am absolutely fine with electronics in suspension but I strongly believe that ABS has no place in competitive DH. Braking ability and threshold braking are massively important skill that do separate riders. Having a system that would theoretically allow a rider to just full pull brake but not lock the wheels would be a huge advantage on most tracks and certainly would for low grip tracks or conditions. Formula One as...

4/21/2026 5:48pm It would be really cool if they kept selling the current aluminum demo with a poverty spec for people that don’t want to refinance their house. For what it’s worth that bike seemed universally liked.

4/9/2026 5:09pm Curmudgeon moment incoming, my apologies: This is exactly the reason I don't give a shit about motocross or cars or a million other things. I 100% don't give a shit about numbers. "Oh, but this one can do 150nm of power!" Cool. I don't care. I don't ride a bike looking for the easiest way to do anything. Does it do 150nm of making my will to live stronger? Will it do a 30-second boost mode of shutting my brain off? Is it 1300W of power that'll die in a year and completely brick the bike for two months while...

2/12/2026 6:23am So, to preface what I'm about to say is that I am not anti-e-bike and that I'm ready for the downvotes. I don’t disagree that adding a motor is a huge innovation; my point is more about where the innovation energy is going and how uneven it feels right now. When I say “analog bikes lack innovation,” I don’t mean there’s none. Things like improved materials, better tolerances, frame designs, wireless shifting, etc. are all real advancements. But compared to the explosive pace of e-bike development, it feels like the entire industry’s R&D gravity has shifted dramatically toward electrification and...
