5/3/2025 1:33pm That would be a crazy tooling/fixturing setup to machine that from a billet if that's the case. My bet is that its cast then machined to provide the necessary tolerances and surface finish. Either way I would really like to see a video of the machining in action!

4/26/2025 2:55am can we please stay rumors in here?! i get that these discussions are fun, but also annoying to most who just want to read about new tech/rumors and don‘t want to scroll through pages of off-topic discussions regarding chainstay length/right amount of travel/dropper post insertion/ etc. thx guys!

4/26/2025 2:50am You just adjust your technique. If you rode exclusively high pivots for a while, then hopped on a more traditional design, it would immediately feel very strange the other way too.

4/24/2025 1:46am this press release i just received seemed pretty tech but maybe it belongs in the geometry thread. i'll start here... I am reaching out to you because I believe your audience would be interested in our company's launch in early May and the two new products we're launching with, the Cardio Speeder and the Super-E. These are the first-ever "procumbent flying position" electric bikes on the market. The procumbent flying position, a new riding position invented by Martoni CEO, Marty Williams, is a posture that combines ergonomic riding with speed. On a procumbent bike, there is no saddle; riders step...

4/24/2025 1:42am New 3d printed titanium levers for the Piccola it seems like, recognized the shape from a set they showed at some bikeshow a while back Lets see if there are any other reworked bits. The piccolas has been out of stock for close to a year, not sure if they have built up stock or done something more. Release is apparently april 24th according to "derbikedoc" on instagram. Pic from a bikeshow, seems very similar to the shape in the video above.

4/19/2025 1:38pm As someone with a front seat on brake mount designs/development for a number of years, there are pros and cons to each mounting method depending on the material and frame design, and the intended customer. Often the intended customer preference outweighs the best possible engineered solution. Shear force loading the caliper bolts is a non-issue in most cycling applications. For a steel frame, the complexity and cost of using either a post mount or direct mount design might go against the simplicity and cost reduction goals of that project. Those customers might prefer something simple, inexpensive, and easy to use...
