11/3/2025 9:20pm I'm 5'11 with long legs and a neutral ape index, and I've been thinking that my ideal bike might be a medium Kavenz VHP16 with +30mm chainstays and a 50mm or so riser. I think the 126-127ish wheelbase at sag would feel manageable through tight stuff, and the seated pedaling position can be addressed through stem length and the seat rails if things feel feels cramped. I have three small kids, though, so this is almost certainly an academic exercise, sadly...

11/3/2025 9:15pm Your prayers have been answered - Alutech Pelmo with that they seem to call "super mullet" - 32" up front, and a 27.5" in the rear (I THINK) Not 100% sure what maxxis tire it runs up front, but I believe it is the new dissector gen 2

11/2/2025 2:10pm Vital article from a while back at the Chinese bike show this year. Chatted with my local shop in regards to WR1 and they aren’t doing frame replacements unless catastrophic failure. Frames are being sent to a company in Vancouver for carbon repair. Molds apparently are being sold to Sava Cycles and they will be flying the bikes under them and not WR1. Below pictured is the proto dh WR1 but now Sava will be bringing it to production in the distant future.

11/1/2025 12:16pm Thanks @PUSH Industries for the response - I really appreciate the detailed information on the function of the dampers. As I get older and willing to do more work on my own suspension, I’ve really enjoyed learning about oil flow, shims and the workings of different dampers. I’ve REALLY enjoyed Fluid Focus’ openness - when I wanted to go up a tune on my own, they provided me a spreadsheet with all of the possible tunes, and were swift in getting me the shims I needed. Shockcraft’s system is also cool, but Dougal isn’t as open with his exact shims...

10/30/2025 7:31pm The ELEVENSIX, VT/X, and SV EIGHT all used shim-based compression and rebound stacks. All three use the same architecture for the base valve, which is shimless and manages the external adjustment range of the compression circuit. External rebound is controlling the low-speed free bleed. Damper tuning is all done via traditional shim stacks, so the tuning variables are almost limitless. There's obviously a lot more to it, but that's the general makeup of the three rear shocks. Darren

10/30/2025 7:31pm Main piston is shimmed for compression and rebound in all Push shocks, the adjuster uses a coil spring backed valve with no shims and adjustable preload for HSC. The standard bomber CR also uses a spring backed valve but its a very stiff belleville washer instead of a coil, and no shims either. At a distance they have similar basic architecture but the actual execution is very different Some kind of preloaded valve usually works well at the base valve - its rare to see a regular unpreloaded shimstack in the reservoir. It helps maintain back pressure on the main...

10/29/2025 8:22pm Interesting feedback! Cool to hear that you had the opposite problem with spring rate calculations. I think optimal spring rate is pretty subjective overall, and while there are many wrong answers, there isn't one correct answer for any and all riders of a certain weight, height, riding style, etc. For a long time I've thought it was pretty bold of any company to try to guess spring rate over the internet (whether that company is Vorsprung, Push, EXT, etc), but this was my first time trying out a company's best guess. I was actually surprised how close they got, only...

10/29/2025 3:45pm I mean, everything seems reasonably priced to me Context is important Cranks are beautifully machined and 280€ A set of gx cranks around 100€ online, mass produced vs machined and hard anodized in Germany by a SMALL company, The shock is 1100, comes custom tuned, a Fox X2 blows and retails around the 800€ Same goes with the forks 1650€ for a flash with perfect bushings and all and it’s almost the same for a fox 38 x2, again mass produced in Asia vs something from a tiny company in Germany. Not cheap, but for what it is I’d say...

10/29/2025 3:44pm I think that Cornelius has completely outclassed Fox in the Upsidedown fork space. Options, quality, weight, price, reliability, performance, etc. Intend wins on every aspect. What the Podium did for me, is make me really interested in the Intend...

10/29/2025 7:34am On the other hand, compared to large players, it's not really unreasonably priced. It's not much more expensive than what Fox charges for their top of the line products in many cases. But it is a lot more niche.
