5/4/2026 1:34pm I would love a meat-bike version with these exact specs. Also, the new design language that's been carried over from the Spider continues to be beautiful. If you imagine that thing without a motor or battery and an appropriately-sized downtube and BB as a result, that's a lovely looking bike.

5/4/2026 12:54pm Assuming this is on an enduro bike (Kavenz VHP, IIRC)? I had a Kavenz VHP18 a couple years back where I would swap back and forth between a 180mm Mezzer and 200mm Dorado Pro. The Dorado adds some heft, but it’s not unmanageable. I found it to be a bit more work/tiring if I was going very technical climbing that...

5/4/2026 12:16pm I have Intend Edge & a Dorado on a pedal bike (Canfield Lithium) - couldn't recommend the Dorado enough, especially for the price right now. It's so confidence inspiring, and for the riding you're describing, it sounds perfect. It's great out of the box, but made better by Shockcraft's Rockeater kit if that's up your ally.

5/4/2026 8:20am Saw the new Maxxis DHF2 or however they will call it on an Enduro-Mag tester‘s bike. So I assume they will be released soon. I refer to the tire that is run pretty frequently by Goldstone for example

5/3/2026 5:10pm Wouldnt that weigh an obscene amount and make the wheel weird on any speeds? My moneys on lightweight stem protection I mean, it just looks like it's a cushcore or similar foamy stuff just wedged between the spokes to protect the valve stem:

5/3/2026 5:09pm Definitely a protection for loose rocks breaking the valve stem. I sheered one off last year from loose rocks. I saw that and was like dang, that’s smart thinking on this race. Small risk but they thought it was worth it to protect it

5/3/2026 5:07pm I can confirm that new saint is 8spd not 7spd (because Shimano) and that it will not be launched this till next summer. It has a clutch too, and rumoured to have a "enduro" version for 12spd cassettes for riders who want silence not pedaling effciency The 2.2mm rotors everyone is running in Korea, should have been launched with all the new brakes last season and make a huge difference to the lever feel

5/3/2026 5:07pm Real interesting review on the Die Bremses. I would just skip to the performance section of the video. Claims they've got a lighter lever pull than Dominions with more power than Mavens and Hope V4s.

5/1/2026 11:09am I think one of the largest "We're not in Kansas anymore" moments I had when I began working for a component manufacturer after years in bikes shops was when I had the insignificance of aftermarket sales explained to me. Don't get me wrong, every brand worth their salt is going to support aftermarket product bc why leave money on the table, but OE sales are king in the bike industry and ultimately OE sales drives every design decision. SRAM gets to push the convenience of full SRAM spec by limiting cross compatibility. For brands like Canyon, Specialized, etc., who are...

4/30/2026 9:15am Pick a chainring size and be a dick about it? Honestly who cares. Kind of reminds me of skiing, where if you don’t ski on 130 flex boots you’re a lil bish. I have a commute and regular guy job and live kinda far from trails. I don’t have as much free time as others to be an ascent monster. Let me enjoy my 30t ring. Don’t yuck my yum yo!!

4/29/2026 1:07pm I just want to back up the claims regarding wax. It's amazing. Clean and does wonders for longevity of a chain. I mentioned this a few times, I was on a ~yearly chain cycle before switching over to drop-on wax, the first waxed chain lasted well over twice what the ones before it lasted. All XX1/X01 Eagle chains on the same drivetrain. As the chainring and cassette were shot (cassette was missing two teeth on the 50T, front chainring was like an old grandma's mouth, barely had any teeth left), I didn't check the stretch. After retiring the bike, it...

4/29/2026 12:19pm The first race of the World Cup Downhill season means plenty of new things to try. Rick Schubert looks scouts the tech in South Korea to find everything from Reece's crazy setup to anti-lock brakes to prototype goods. Go fast, takes chances (with your tech). The stem heard 'round the world. Gamux going all in. Local race success has us wondering how it'll fair in the big leagues. Only out-of-the-box thing missing is a 32-inch wheel. FOX on the grind. ABS brakes on Giant Factory bikes? We're listening... Commencal Muc-Off tidy as always. Make your own "internal" routing. Loic's new...

4/29/2026 12:10pm Yeah, as someone who does HR based zone-oriented training a <32t is pretty amazing when i need to haul a heavy bike up something in zone 2. Sure I could ignore what I'm trying to accomplish on that ride and muscle my way up things and blow myself up in the process, but that's not always what you need to be doing. And yes, I do go to a gym. My guess is that people who are saying "real bikers only need 32t" haven't actually ever followed a formal training plan, which tend to involve a lot of time in...

4/29/2026 12:07pm I wrote this on Pinkbike but will crosspost here to as I firmly believe ABS should not be involved in WCDH. I'm all for innovation in DH and I am absolutely fine with electronics in suspension but I strongly believe that ABS has no place in competitive DH. Braking ability and threshold braking are massively important skill that do separate riders. Having a system that would theoretically allow a rider to just full pull brake but not lock the wheels would be a huge advantage on most tracks and certainly would for low grip tracks or conditions. Formula One as...

4/28/2026 10:37am Probably been mentioned before, but any guesses what’s up with these new Shimano rotors? Hard to tell if they’re thicker, and they look similar to the cheaper RT66 rotors Shimano currently sells. I wonder if they’re messing with tuning power via different rotors/pads? Or maybe these are a 3rd party I don’t know about.
