I think that's a fair assumption. Maxxis had no mention of this explicitly in the launch material, but reducing pinch flats/rim impacts was def a top priority when they developed the casing.

I got a chance to ride the new trp dhr evo pro's on a rental tr11 this last week in the bike park. I had a set of the original DHR Evos and like many things about them that most people mention: light lever action, appearance, overall power and modulation, but struggled with them overall. I tried all manners of mods to them and pad/rotor combinations and ultimately they were not for me. The new Evo Pro's however were fantastic. Same light lever feel/throw, good lever ergonomics out of the box and do not require a freedom coast, or oak...

After running Trickstuff Maximas for nearly 4 seasons, I decided to not carry them over and sell them off with my complete bike. The way they were sold and what happened to their Germany HQ didn't sit well with me so it was time to move on. Tried to get a set of Trinity again but kept sleeping on the launches so I gave up. I ended up getting a set of Hope GR4s and did a 3200M day of descending on my local trails as the first ride. I am pretty blown away by them honestly. For those wondering...

My thoughts as well, but what's weird is that it's on a TR11, which is a VERY progressive frame. I think it's around 40%. Putting a progressive coil on that is kind of highly progressive leverage curve is like putting a hat on a hat. just saw this in mojo suspension story. Looks like some kind of dual spring setup for fine tuning/recreating individual dual rate spring curve. I think Dave Garland did something like this for the boxxer quite some years ago.
