2/27/2026 9:13am The Shockcraft tuning kit is easily the most complex out of the three; the rebound circuit is fully checked using a new piston bolt and a one way valve system, the shim stacks configurations for compression & rebound are like nothing I have ever seen, and it includes a new base valve piston bolt as well so all shims are now metric sizing and much easier to source. The test track is drying out rapidly and may be good to go by this weekend. Eager to get going with this one. š¤

2/26/2026 2:01pm Just fitted the Maven lever tuning kit to my A1 silver brakes. I thought I would put this up here as I surprised there is no test info on this considering itās a big selling point. First of all I personally havenāt had a problem with them from start. This silver set have been faultless but I have got another set of ultimates on my trail bike and it did take about 3 bleeds and lot of massages to get them working consistently like the silvers. But I do understand what people say about the stiffness in lever pull. Anyway...

2/26/2026 7:50am The new jersey and helmet kits are a total throwback to the Troy originals. Honestly, those new flame helmets are straight fire . Itās awesome to see Troy Lee back.

2/25/2026 9:26pm Had a few hiccups with getting all the parts landed for the Bomber CR builds, but finally have everything in the shop and ready to go. Here's a little preview of three different takes on the same size piston. The differences are quite pronounced, looking forward to comparing performance. Avalanche Suspension uses the stock piston, but may modify port sizes. I'll verify when that shock is pulled apart.

2/24/2026 10:29pm For both brands, you should always buy the most expensive chain they sell, so XX and XTR as the harder coatings on them often double to triple the usage you can get out of them, more than offsetting the cost increase. Zero friction cycling has the data, but XX flat top chains in particular are the cheapest chain per mile you will find.

2/22/2026 11:01am Iāve had a chance to rue the same frame with two chanstay lengths using +0 and +10 dropouts on my kavenz. The longer chain stay provides more front end grip more consistently and allows me to ride taller and further back behind the bars effectively increasing my āfunctionalā reach on the bike. That said it takes more effort to load the rear and slide the rear around tighter turns. You can but takes a it more body english to do so and equally rewarding when you do. Fun in rough, technical sections and linking corners when youāre trying to carry...

2/19/2026 9:03am Thanks! I would be very curious how a set of formula brakes with 9mm master cylinder (instead of 10mm) and also with a few more threads cut on the reach adjust to allow more range of adjustment, would stack up against the Mavens etc. The brakeace was interesting to try but they only had the clunky android app at the time I used it. After a couple weeks with the system my takeaway was that regardless of the brakes you are using, you always end up using similar braking power. For example I had very similar data between the Lewis...
