5/15/2026 5:42pm I’m not pro-Evil but dude this is like bringing up the Pinto as a reason not to get a new Ford. There may be plenty of relevant and current reasons but this isn’t one.

5/15/2026 5:33pm Be so cool to see an Evil DH bike again. When Evil first launched with the Revolt in alloy I think they had quite a few warranty frames. They replaced all or nearly all. Not sure if material, fabrication, heat treating or what, but I remember a lot of them breaking. That was like 15 years ago, if not longer. I think the Undead (the carbon DH bike) were much more reliable. Then they shifted their focus to trail and enduro bikes. Since then, Sorge and others have ridden their enduro (Wreckoning) bike at Rampage and such without seeing that...

5/15/2026 8:47am This but they must be marketed as park bikes. I wonder how the Status 170 DH sold. As far as I’m concerned every rental fleet should be those instead of 200mm travel DH race bikes.

5/13/2026 12:31pm In Western Canada Roberts composites is good. I've used them twice; both times service was great and you can't tell there was a repair. https://robertscomposites.com/

5/12/2026 11:07pm It looks even better in person! Never ridden a Spot myself but I like what they’re doing. A buddy of mine is a big fan, he’s got the Mayhem, their hardtail, and gravel bike.

5/12/2026 11:06pm One thing missing here is the fact that with the proliferation of composite know how, there are more people around able to safely repair a wider range of issues. Rather than pretending we are recycling carbon bikes I’d love to see more frames designed in ways that facilitate repair. Repair is verifiable in a way that recycling is not, it is cost effective for everyone concerned, and it is as close as you’ll get to good for the environment. It probably flows on to other design decisions to ensure repair is viable (like bearing placement, etc etc), but designing bikes...
