1/18/2026 5:01pm The sticker on the inner chainstay is hard to make it out but kind of looks like Orion, which is Esker Cycles and they work with Weagle as well. Could be them.

1/18/2026 5:01pm Pivot do not own that suspension design. It is Dave Weagle’s and he has openly talked about offering it to other brands (Atherton for one).

1/17/2026 7:48pm Looks sick. Would love to try it out to compare with the Podium and the Push Nine One, but it looks like 2349 EUR translates to about 2725 USD, and I don't want to try it out quite that bad. But it's cool to see this USD genre is healthy and healthy. I've really enjoyed my time on the Podium and the Nine One so far. Super impressed.

1/16/2026 1:29pm For racing DH I can see the merits of a electronic rear mech as my experience with the trail T Type stuff is that they are more robust and can be trusted to bang off shifts when needed but for every other DH bike use I want a cable rear mech mostly just because of how abused DH bikes are.

1/15/2026 6:33pm I just picked up a fox podium as a loaner for a month to try out. I just got my first ride on it this morning. Initial impressions are quite positive and I was pretty surprised by how sensitive it was, bordering on how my 38 with v2 smashpot feels in terms of willingness to move under small chatter. I'll post more of my impressions as I spend more time with it. Initially I would say that there are grip benefits for off camber corners situations and extremely chunky sections. If I had to boil that down to a number...

1/15/2026 10:09am Well beyond what I have done as it is a completely different setup, but somewhat similar goal. Increased low speed support (which was accomplished in part with the updated needle from Intend that closes the bypass flow off more), and more high speed damping (via the shim stack). I'd be curious to try out this new compression damping setup. It's like a mix of a poppet valve setup and a traditional shim stack. Supposedly the float of the spring backed portion can be easily adjusted as well. Lots of options!

1/15/2026 9:07am Intend even sent Pinkbike a Flash 38 to test, that's new! *Edit* Never mind just another product announcement. The new compression damping unit is a pretty significant change as well. Quite different from the conventional shim stack and needle system they have used since the company began.

1/13/2026 2:37pm If only Aero was that simple. Plenty of DH teams have tested in the past (most recently FMD and Canyon) but NONE have taken it further than that. There are just too many variables in DH. For example anything that helps with straight-line will have a massive negative when there is any kind of cross wind or need to turn.

1/12/2026 8:27pm The signature Hope squeal existed on the tech3 brakes as well, correct? If so, and given these brakes used strictly phenolic pistons, with a similar design to the inserts on the tech4 brakes, it seems possible that they are the common denominator causing the squealing. Now what the compounding factors could be that cause that in these brakes is beyond...

1/11/2026 9:25pm Aero will come. There is so much aero to be gained on a DH bike. Crying foul over the Fox speed suits is pretty silly, seeing how tight kits have gotten over the years. They just did it better than everyone else. Someone will probably think body armour is creating poor aero profiles under tight jerseys and start sculpting those too. I'm waiting for someone to find a way around the moto visor rule or try to reshape one in order to find some aero gain that is surely there. Style before tenths of a second! It's such a shame...

1/10/2026 1:33pm Rumor is, still only one size of these exist at the moment but here’s more of the DH bikes floating around outside the WC team so that’s always exciting to see!

1/8/2026 9:47pm I generally recommend everyone has a full overhaul once a year - if you ride a ton then also do a lowers service at 6 months, and that covers 99% of people. You can't tell when a damper NEEDS a service, only when it should have been serviced about 6 months ago. And catastrophic failures always come at the worst time - right before or during a big ride/race/holiday Damper oil breaks down and starts to wear out parts like the inside of the damper tube - and usually feel fine right up until the point they have done major...

1/8/2026 6:57pm Yeah, the press release Michelin sent out didn't contain any of that info, thanks for looking that up! The casing for the Wild Enduro seems to be dual 33 PTI plies, and they do indeed mention GumX for the center knobs and MagicX for the side knobs. They also feature bead-to-bead casing shields for puncture protection. The MS tires are available in 29 or 27.5, 2.40 in both cases, while the MH tires grow to 2.50. The rear is available only as a 29/2.40 for now. Checking the specs for the e-MTB versions, they don't seem all that different to...
