I think he rides bixs bikes usually. Maybe they are developing a DH bike?
Probably the Demo at the very least. The dealer meeting for the Demo happened here back in October. There's a team edition/spec in addition to the S-Works.
It'd be nice if the long travel Levo/Kenevo they hinted at would be released.
Could it possibly be a model that slots inbetween the Epic and the Stumpy? A 130/140 bike - I believe that was talked about briefly in the old "rumors" thread a few months ago.
Only other thing I could think of is a new Levo SL, but not sure that will happen.
Feel like the Demo launch would take place at bike parks?
Correct, it is written in one of his Instagram post that this frame is a BIXS DH proto.
Full power, mid weight e-bike to compete with the Amflow. 🤫
As a somewhat budget minded racer, electric loses me when I think how many spare mechanical mechs can I afford to stock my toolbox for the price of ONE electric derailleur. Same with wheels, rims, tires, chains, chain guide, on and on. For racing it's about having spares in the toolbox and not having a fancy spare part could end your weekend before you even get in the gate.
For racing DH I can see the merits of a electronic rear mech as my experience with the trail T Type stuff is that they are more robust and can be trusted to bang off shifts when needed but for every other DH bike use I want a cable rear mech mostly just because of how abused DH bikes are.
Think i'd like to see something like an eagle 90 DH setup though
A huge benefit for electronic derailleurs is service time. Which is also a big reason why SRAM have pushed electronics to begin with.
For mechanics it means everytime they do a rebuild/bearing swap it means no derailleur shenanigans.
I think someone is trying to hide their disappointment that Rachel is with someone else..
They could call it a ‘Camber’
I haven’t really thought about that but yeah, kinda wild spesh hasn’t had a 130-140 ish trail bike for quite a while now it seems? People always swoon over that epic evo but it ain’t no trail bike. Pretty big gap between that and the sumpy currently.
Jokes on them I've been using 2.3mm TRP rotors for years! The 2.3 Lewis rotors are good value too. I originally switched to these because I like quick biting brakes with little free stroke. I'm a weirdo that actually likes the SwingLink in the Mavens.
Ladies and gents i give you....the NEW Pivot Firebird spotted on the north shore today

Very interesting! It's a full alloy mule unlike the Phoenix prototype, and it still has the DW6 flex stay thingy. I wonder if they're keeping their shorter travel options on the DW4 and switching the longer travel bikes to DW6 with the 2-chainz setup?
Edit: Also, does anyone think that Vivid looks a bit too big to be a 205x65?
Is it even a pivot prototype? The links and hardware look all wrong to me. Who else does DW work with? Is it a DaVinci or something ?
Agreed. Them just releasing a new firebird last year and discussing why they didn’t go with the 2 chain layout in the press. Doesn’t make a lot of sense to me.
The tube profiles look like classic Intense. Everything else looks wrong but they have thrown the rulebook out the window recently. What’s the sticker on the inside of the chainstay?
Come to think of it, the brake mount is in completely the wrong location. So is the bike, you'd think Pivot would be testing at home rather than the North Shore. Perhaps the rabbit hole goes deeper?
Pivot do not own that suspension design. It is Dave Weagle’s and he has openly talked about offering it to other brands (Atherton for one).
Xm481 rim on the rear. Suggesting maybe not a long travel brusier? (Aren't those the lighter weight rims?)
Atherton is running DW6, not DW5. The difference is minimal, but still.
Who is running DW4 actually, Pivot and Ibis, anyone else? DeVinci is on Split Pivot...
Also, this doesn't look like a mule, it's a fairly finished bike given tube shapes and orientations.
Yeah, they turned this one down
Their S series are DW4 though
Is it just me or is there something odd going on w/ the chainring?

The sticker on the inner chainstay is hard to make it out but kind of looks like Orion, which is Esker Cycles and they work with Weagle as well. Could be them.
I second this, I asked around people I know and they said the same. It's kind of odd that it's called something different but we shall see what happens with it in the future.
The Pivot phoenix is still DW6 just with a flex stay. Functionally very sim lar to the Atherton gearbox DH bike as well.
Thats not a trunnion shock so it’s probably 230xwhatever
maybe pivot finally learned that cramped 205 dh-shocks aren‘t a good thing.
And their aluminium bikes are machined, not welded from tubes.
