Aero will come. There is so much aero to be gained on a DH bike. Crying foul over the Fox speed suits is pretty silly, seeing how tight kits have gotten over the years. They just did it better than everyone else. Someone will probably think body armour is creating poor aero profiles under tight jerseys and start sculpting those too. I'm waiting for someone to find a way around the moto visor rule or try to reshape one in order to find some aero gain that is surely there. Style before tenths of a second! It's such a shame...

I generally recommend everyone has a full overhaul once a year - if you ride a ton then also do a lowers service at 6 months, and that covers 99% of people. You can't tell when a damper NEEDS a service, only when it should have been serviced about 6 months ago. And catastrophic failures always come at the worst time - right before or during a big ride/race/holiday Damper oil breaks down and starts to wear out parts like the inside of the damper tube - and usually feel fine right up until the point they have done major...

Yeah, the press release Michelin sent out didn't contain any of that info, thanks for looking that up! The casing for the Wild Enduro seems to be dual 33 PTI plies, and they do indeed mention GumX for the center knobs and MagicX for the side knobs. They also feature bead-to-bead casing shields for puncture protection. The MS tires are available in 29 or 27.5, 2.40 in both cases, while the MH tires grow to 2.50. The rear is available only as a 29/2.40 for now. Checking the specs for the e-MTB versions, they don't seem all that different to...

Yep, that's been my experience too, the Hope braided lines do nothing for lever feel, the external steel braiding is just there for additional protection. Additionally, installing them is a huge faff, the steel braiding splits open real easy and then getting it all into the olive is a royal pain. They are also thicker and thus may not play nice will every frame out there in regards to cable ports and internal guide hoses. TL/DR "these are not the hoses you are looking for." I'd be very intrigued by running HEL lines on other brakes to see what difference...

Pinkbike got an article about new Michelin Wild Enduro performance but either Michelin didn't provide much info or Pinkbike didn't ask for more info and the canadian website for michelin has no useful information like weight, actual compounds used so I checked the canadian distributor (HLC) for michelin and they already have them listed with most info. I am assuming those will replace the old Wild Enduro front and rear competition tires that had 60tpi casing and either Gum-X (medium) or Magi-X (soft) compound. I put a hillbilly on last year and never wanted to take it off. These spikier tires look like they would not be good all arounders but I love that style of tire on everything besides buffed machine made flow trails. The assegai I’m running now just can’t get through the blown and loose stuff that accumulates in turns and at the bottom of chutes. The way I describe it is that I want a tire to perform well in those do-or-die make or break spots where traction is crucial and control is the difference between flying down the side...

I've got a little conversation piece for everyone—I've been riding a Maxxis' High Roller a lot the past year and a half, and was curious how Continental's Argotal would compare since it's pretty similar. I rode them back to back the past few months as a front tire to see what the deal was. I mean that they require more finger power to deliver the same stopping power. To compare it to other brakes, the Advocate has by far the shortest free stroke I have tested, and also the overall stiffest feel to the system (meaning that there is hardly any movement of the lever when you squeeze it past the bite point, the hoses are super stiff and will not allow for any kind of lever sponginess). They have good initial bite and are easy to modulate. When you really need get braking heavily, I would put their power above the Code RSC...

Wasn't there some talk a while back about connecting the two sides of the fork for some reason? What if the holes are for a piece of tubing to connect the two sides through the arch, which could then be covered by a cover over the hollow arch?

100% agree on DOT supremacy, widely available wherever you are regardless if you have a bike shop around or not, i keep one type (Motul DOT5.1) of DOT fluid for all brakes i service, Sram, Hayes, Hope w/e. Super easy cleanup. All other vehicles use DOT fluid brake systems (for a reason), why do bikes have to be different?
