Are you sure those are stock sinter pads („brass-y“ golden backplate)? I’m running them exclusively (mostly cura2 tho) with great results on nearly every rotor I’ve tried. The old organic formula compound (black backing) is weak in comparison.

Quarter HP just did a revisit on the Titan, and seat post insertion was one of the knocks on a six year old frame.. Considering that 170 was long at that point, that's not bad..

I believe the two "oldest" bikes on the market right now are S Enduro (2020) and Banshee Titan (2019) and they are both still perfectly relevant going into 2026... I'd say Titan became even more popular as the time went by which is pretty funny in modern times but I'd say there are more and more of us who dont really buy into latest trends of blingbling marginal gains and are perfectly happy with a simple, capable, reliable and affordable bike and Banshee ticks all of those.

Late to the discussion- but I think you'd have to be a pretty good rider doing A-B-A-B testing to feel 250g of unsprung weight on the rear wheel. The unsprung weight on the rear end is probably about 5kg- wheel, tire, brake caliper, cassette, derailleur, chainstay/seatstay, link etc. 250g is a small % change. Another thing I didn't see any discussion about is the fact that the tire is kind of suspension for the wheel. A heavier wheel might make the tire work harder and filter out some vibration before it can even get to the axle. Think about a...

I think in most cases the things that add weight normally add more performance than you lose from the increased mass, eg heavier/wider tyres. Also unsprung mass is going to play a bigger part at higher frequencies (more rapid changing direction) and our enemy friction is normally much bigger at that point! So 200g of unsprung mass doesnt matter too much when there is 4-5kg of excess friction in the system.

Agreed. Not to say that a 250g increase is very noticeable, but it definitely does something. Probably not something that us laymen should be really worried over, but if I was a high level racer pushing my bike to ragged edge and .010 seconds was the difference between a good result and great one, maybe this would be a thought? Anyways, we should get back to rumours, I meant my original post as more of a discussion about the potential to refine electronics not a total derailment.

@thegromit I’ve found that the Auto Tune creates a too soft feel for me and my fox factory / performance elite cannot be opened up enough to achieve the rebound and compression settings suggested. Though I do want to get with my suspension servicing friends and try to shim and customize these forks and shocks to the Auto Tune. Part of my self education I would adjust my clickers all the way one way and do a run. Turn the clicker all the way the other way and do a run. Compare the data results and what I felt. And...

So as the year and this thread draws to a close, what were 2025's most significant innovations? What could get nominated for the Innovation Of The Year Awards? 32" wheels? That seems like nominating a shoe size. Fox's Glidecore air piston? That seems awfully similar to what Formula and perhaps others have used already. Some aspect of Shimano Di2? Maybe the wiggly shifter buttons or the angled brake levers? I really hope the greatest innovation isn't founders coming out of retirement in hope of saving their foundlings from extinction.

Oregon isn't really representative of the riding on the West Coast when people talk about needing bigger bikes out here. Oregon is known for being smooth and flowy. BC and Washington are classic west coast in my books.

I took my enduro bike out on my local XC loop the other day to test some things and it was slow, but boy was it comfortable. I use the enduro bike for a lot of things it isn't "necessary" for because it's easier on the body.

I think like most things this very much depends on where and what you ride. Here in Vancouver almost everyone I know is on a 160-180mm enduro bike. Our trails have a lot of big roots and big compressions so we’re using every bit of travel we can get. Even if you primarily shuttle to the top you’ll likely be pedalling at some point so you rarely see downhill bikes at Seymour.

Glad to see these in the spotlight! I've been using my Advocates since Spring and love them.
