Alright I know this one has been hit hard and in pieces and in different places over time. Trying to consolidate to one spot and get feedback. I have someone that isn't a part of the Vital Forums asking me questions and advice so figured I would just lay this one out for feedback to forward to them directly for helping make a decision.

Simply put a T4V4 with bearing mod vs GR4. For the folks that have actual experience with both/ possibly own both... would greatly value your feedback.

Notes they have heard

- GR4 significantly easier/cleaner to bleed

-T4V4 has slightly lighter lever throw

-GR4 with power levers can allow for best use of close to bar set up

-GR4 might have improved the classic Hope noises?

I will edit and add if I remember more for them. But in the meantime... appreciate the feedback!

I have no experience with the GR4s but the T4V4 mod didn't work for me - pistons don't retract properly and the brakes lock up quickly, both ends.

The feedback I appreciate your sharing. I am sorry it didn't work for you but thank you for sharing.

Adding my 2c,  I had the same experience.

I’ve had t4v4 with and without mod

T4e4 with mod t4tr4 with mod

Tech evo GR4 with normal and power lever

T4v4 has light lever pull

When paired with the bearing it has a slightly sharper bite point

GR4 feels the best to me, a tad less modulation and harder lever pull, partially fixed with the power lever

I ran the power lever with the bite point contact half in so get the levers close to the bar, that’s where it feels the best to me

V4 calipers are noisy for whatever reason, same with the e4

Tr and gr 4 are much quieter

In terms of bleeding they bleed the same but having the bleeding port is just nice

The bearing mod worked flawlessly for me not sure why to some it didn’t

On all scenarios always used 2.3mm thick rotors

So overall for me for price, look, quality, feel, performance

T4Evo GR4 with Power levers is the best brake ( haven’t tried intend or Trickstuff but when price is in the equation they easily loose to Hope )

REALLY appreciate you taking the time to spell that all out like that. Real awesome that you have experience with all the different variations. Thank you for the detailed feedback! Will forward this along. They are leaning towards GR4 with power levers so this definitely helps.
