11/17/2025 9:11pm Sun peaks is a small resort village but has every thing you’ll need. Grocery store, restaurants etc. The riding as a bit of everything with a much more laid back vibe then Whistler. Never ridden Revy but the town is closer to Whistler in size. You might also want to look at Silver Star, not too far out of the way between Sun Peaks and Revelstoke.

11/13/2025 2:48pm Mid high pivot, seems to be the best compromise. You get the square edge performance with more neutral cornering and jumping character. And Forbidden is still unique because of the true proportional sizing, which I think is still the key sell point. I am terrible judge of aesthetics.

11/13/2025 12:14pm Resident Korean resident here 1. Things to do on bikes... RIDE!!! The race weekend is also the start of the bike park season locally. There are three parks within an hour of each other, two within five minutes. Alpensia Bike Park is literally right next to Yongpyong. The parks here a different from Europe, smaller and still growing. Wellihilli is further west at lower altitude and has fun runs. You could also ride in/near Seoul. We ride year round here and the outskirts of Seoul have some fantastic singletrack. Even some rock slabs with epic views on the eastern edge...

11/8/2025 7:24pm The load cases we used are mainly based on the EFBE Tri-Test (Cat 5). EFBE is a German company specialized in frame testing. I can’t share the exact load cases since they’re proprietary, but EFBE can provide the official documentation once you pay an advance or deposit. You can also find some useful hints in their public test videos on YouTube — they show quite well the kind of loads and setups they use.

11/7/2025 10:02pm I’ve got Maven Base and Dominions. Not a lot of difference in power but the Dominion lever point doesn’t wander in and out as much. I like the Dominions better. The stupid Maven levers are slick like ice. Actually had my finger slip off on a steep turn and broke my face something good. I had to put grip tape on the levers. Looking forward to putting the Dominions on this newer bike once I have a chance.

11/7/2025 10:02pm Depending on the exact configuration, I'd say about halfway between a Code and Maven. Obviously, way lighter lever feel and more aggressive bite though.

11/7/2025 9:37pm Exciting bikes are becoming harder and harder to come by, as geometry, suspension design and manufacturing start converge. And it’s definitely not because there aren’t a ton of amazing and very interesting bikes on the market, I think we have more options than ever right now. And honestly, there’s very few bikes on the market that I think I’d actually...

11/7/2025 8:45pm Chris Canfields Vampire Fastarossa is an exciting concept, and the theoretical shorter travel Ti bike that he had previously said would be out this fall. Similar to the Orbea mentioned earlier, it would be pretty great to have an enduro bike that you can change to a DH bike if needed. On this all you really need is the fork. No links or fittings to change, same shock stroke used for up to 40mm of rear travel difference. I would happily replace 2 of my bikes with one.

11/7/2025 8:45pm I like the trend of bikes coming out with adjustable dropouts to change rear center lengths. It's been fun playing around with different dropout lengths with my Kavenz and it looks like Banshee, Crestline and Transition (with their new bottlerocket) have something similar going on. I wonder if eccentric bottom brackets will ever be a thing. I think a few world cup DH bikes have them, but would be an interesting way to adjust F/R ratio without changing wheelbase.

11/5/2025 5:53pm Aston and Cahal have their quirks but calling them mediocre riders is complete BS. Both of those guys rip. Also 435 chainstay on a modern XL mtb is a joke IMO. Especially for a frame that costs $4k.
