Have you tried the Cannibals? They are seriously good tires

Saw this and came to check if anyone beat me to it! Ohlins currently put the spring in the right hand fork leg, so unless they've stopped that, that is a new damper in the left leg

I changed to the sintered pads straight away. I never run organic. But it's nice to hear that the brakes should be powerful at least.

While the testing video was pretty funny, I’m really looking forward to seeing this project progress. Filament wound tubes have some definite advantages when it comes to creating an efficient structure (ie. low weight for a given stiffness and strength, and minimal voids in the layup). Not to mention a lot of flexibility in the way you can layup the...

Posting this in both Tech Rumors threads for visibility. Looks like a new/updated ohlins rear shock, as well as a different airspring top cap on the updated fork.

Combining some 2024-2025 redux and hopes for 2026, are there any rumors on consumer-focused data acquisition systems a la Motion Instruments - something much more accurate and useful than Shockwiz, but not nearly as complex as what's currently available. Anybody know if Spesh is considering doing anything with MI other than sitting on the IP? Maybe integrating it into their bikes in some sort of proprietary fashion? Been quiet for quite some time.

170 with a single crown is a heck of a lot of fun, but it’s no dh 200 with a dual crown.

I’m pretty sure the Cura 4’s ship with the stock organic pads which are pretty mediocre. The Formula metallic pads are a nice bump up in power and last a very long time. Alternatively the pad offerings from Galfer/MTX/Sinter/Trickstuff would all be good options to improve the power of them, likely better power than the metallic pads but shorter life...

Are you sure those are stock sinter pads („brass-y“ golden backplate)? I’m running them exclusively (mostly cura2 tho) with great results on nearly every rotor I’ve tried. The old organic formula compound (black backing) is weak in comparison.

Quarter HP just did a revisit on the Titan, and seat post insertion was one of the knocks on a six year old frame.. Considering that 170 was long at that point, that's not bad..

I believe the two "oldest" bikes on the market right now are S Enduro (2020) and Banshee Titan (2019) and they are both still perfectly relevant going into 2026... I'd say Titan became even more popular as the time went by which is pretty funny in modern times but I'd say there are more and more of us who dont really buy into latest trends of blingbling marginal gains and are perfectly happy with a simple, capable, reliable and affordable bike and Banshee ticks all of those.

An interesting look at the wound carbon tube process and how they stand up against alloy tubes with Kavenz visiting the Compotech facility. "Czech" it out.

Late to the discussion- but I think you'd have to be a pretty good rider doing A-B-A-B testing to feel 250g of unsprung weight on the rear wheel. The unsprung weight on the rear end is probably about 5kg- wheel, tire, brake caliper, cassette, derailleur, chainstay/seatstay, link etc. 250g is a small % change. Another thing I didn't see any discussion about is the fact that the tire is kind of suspension for the wheel. A heavier wheel might make the tire work harder and filter out some vibration before it can even get to the axle. Think about a...

I think in most cases the things that add weight normally add more performance than you lose from the increased mass, eg heavier/wider tyres. Also unsprung mass is going to play a bigger part at higher frequencies (more rapid changing direction) and our enemy friction is normally much bigger at that point! So 200g of unsprung mass doesnt matter too much when there is 4-5kg of excess friction in the system.

Agreed. Not to say that a 250g increase is very noticeable, but it definitely does something. Probably not something that us laymen should be really worried over, but if I was a high level racer pushing my bike to ragged edge and .010 seconds was the difference between a good result and great one, maybe this would be a thought? Anyways, we should get back to rumours, I meant my original post as more of a discussion about the potential to refine electronics not a total derailment.

What do you mean by “relative strength of forces”? This sounds like a misunderstanding of the physics as play within suspension. The conversation around unsprung mass relates to the acceleration of the wheel when it impacts a bump, and this acceptation is directly tied to the mass of the object being accelerated. While anecdotally you may not have noticed a...
