Pinkbike got an article about new Michelin Wild Enduro performance but either Michelin didn't provide much info or Pinkbike didn't ask for more info and the canadian website for michelin has no useful information like weight, actual compounds used so I checked the canadian distributor (HLC) for michelin and they already have them listed with most info. I am assuming those will replace the old Wild Enduro front and rear competition tires that had 60tpi casing and either Gum-X (medium) or Magi-X (soft) compound. Wild Enduro MS perf Available in 27.5x2.4 at 1165g or 29x2.4 at 1215g Wild Enduro MH...

I put a hillbilly on last year and never wanted to take it off. These spikier tires look like they would not be good all arounders but I love that style of tire on everything besides buffed machine made flow trails. The assegai I’m running now just can’t get through the blown and loose stuff that accumulates in turns and at the bottom of chutes. The way I describe it is that I want a tire to perform well in those do-or-die make or break spots where traction is crucial and control is the difference between flying down the side...

I've got a little conversation piece for everyone—I've been riding a Maxxis' High Roller a lot the past year and a half, and was curious how Continental's Argotal would compare since it's pretty similar. I rode them back to back the past few months as a front tire to see what the deal was. And to try and better understand why I've shifted to really liking these mixed-conditions, open tread designs so much as a front tire over the popular Assegai-esque designs. Here is the article - https://www.vitalmtb.com/features/argument-against-transition-knobs-con… The TLDR is that they both are great tires for a wider...

I mean that they require more finger power to deliver the same stopping power. To compare it to other brakes, the Advocate has by far the shortest free stroke I have tested, and also the overall stiffest feel to the system (meaning that there is hardly any movement of the lever when you squeeze it past the bite point, the hoses are super stiff and will not allow for any kind of lever sponginess). They have good initial bite and are easy to modulate. When you really need get braking heavily, I would put their power above the Code RSC...

Throw HEL Advocate in the mix, too, super short lever throw and very stiff hoses which means very little movement after the bite point as well. Our review if you missed it: https://www.vitalmtb.com/product/guide/hydraulic-disc-brakes/hel-perfor….

- the juniors will do well, but won't be a smooth transition to elite. - Jackson and Loic will continue to dominate, but a healthy Amaury will mix it up. Henri will be a regular on the podium - Vali on a Commencal and a stable team will be tough to beat. Being Canadian, I hope Gracey has another year like last year. - the Specialized Demo is released. A new precedent on how expensive DH bikes can be is set - more park/freeride specific bikes (think Transition Bottle Rocket, Commencal FRS, etc) are released. Hopefully Kona comes out to...

Wasn't there some talk a while back about connecting the two sides of the fork for some reason? What if the holes are for a piece of tubing to connect the two sides through the arch, which could then be covered by a cover over the hollow arch?

100% agree on DOT supremacy, widely available wherever you are regardless if you have a bike shop around or not, i keep one type (Motul DOT5.1) of DOT fluid for all brakes i service, Sram, Hayes, Hope w/e. Super easy cleanup. All other vehicles use DOT fluid brake systems (for a reason), why do bikes have to be different?

You can get the correct DOT fluid in any automotive shop. For any DOT compatible brake. Good luck with that with mineral oil brakes. You have different oils WITHIN the same manufacturer (Shimano), let alone between manufacturers. I know I'm beating a dead horse at this point and derailling the thread at the same time, but sorry, I see ZERO benefits from using mineral oil vs. DOT fluid in brakes... If anything, also reading people's experiences about it, it's more complicated than anything, cleaning it up is a pain compared to DOT and the aforementioned issue of finding the correct...

Looks like Pinnd is working on a set of brakes. Apparently launching mid 2026. Full titanium construction, apparently "good braking power". Fully developed by an external design agency, as posted by the designers on linkedin. " Development of a set of high-end mountain bike hydraulic brakes. The set includes both a completely new developed lever and 4-piston caliper. The brakes are manufactured in small series on 5-axis CNC machines in titanium. Testing showed good braking power and excellent heat management. our role: design strategy, concept development, full 3D engineering, sourcing of components, prototyping, testing." https://www.linkedin.com/posts/alskar-design-bv_alskardesign-alskar-bic…
