I have actually touched a Tacky Chan radial. They're real, and I'm excited

I think we have known these were coming for awhile but this is the first time I’ve seen the Tacky Chan radials on something other than a race bike. (Post from Crossworx Instragram)

Latest electronic shifting spy shot (apparently we are finally getting a reverse gear as well, after all this time we've been asking for it):

This season I switched over to a Zerode Katipo; gearbox belt drive setup. The rear end tracks exceptionally well likely due to a combination of factors; low CM of the gearbox, quiet belt, minimum unsprung mass on the rear end. Most satisfying gravity oriented bike I've owned. Switching back to normal derailleur rigs I mostly notice the chain noise and resonance of the long, oscillating derailleur and cage. I can't help but think derailleurs are effectively Untuned Mass Ocillators (TM) that can negatively impact the perceived feel and smoothness of the rear suspension. Everyone knows how satisfying a really quiet...

Vorsprung Liked a reply to forum topic Does Unsprung Weight Really Impact MTB Suspension Performance?

I have, thanks for noticing!

Lol I did feel this needed to be broken out to its own thread - Neko Mullaly did a great video on weight here and came to the same ind of conclusion I did - There is a certain minimun weight of wheel/tyre/brakes etc most people need to run for the bike to ride well, and the only way to drop any significant amount of unsprung weight from those parts would impact performance far worse than anything you gained. As long as you have good tyres, wheels that are stiff and strong enough for you then you can try to...

In my experience, if you remove enough weight it can make a truly significant difference. Back in like 2017, I set out to drop as much weight off the rear wheel as I could, going from stock low-end everything to high-end everything. I dropped 700ish grams and it made a massive difference in not only suspension performance (it could flutter for the first time) but overall bike handling/feeling as well, enough that I've prioritized it on every bike since. That was an a Devinci Spartan. I could've dropped more weight but stuck to an alloy rim and doubledown casing. I...

Not sure if this is real and if it’s been posted. New decals for Öhlins forks. Looks horrid in comparison to the old decals.

Before I bought my intend trinity set, I had the formula cura 4. Changed the stock pads to galfer green, installed 220mm 2.3mm thick formula monolithic rotors (front and back) and replaced the levers with the rgtec offering in normal length. I didn't get the chance to run them down the mountain and properly test them, but honestly, they have amazing power. If you get the long rgtec levers, you will get even more power. Looking at testing results between various brakes, the formula cura 4 with these changes should be up in the top with the much pricier options...

Saw this and came to check if anyone beat me to it! Ohlins currently put the spring in the right hand fork leg, so unless they've stopped that, that is a new damper in the left leg

I changed to the sintered pads straight away. I never run organic. But it's nice to hear that the brakes should be powerful at least.

Kapolczer Added a reply to Wound Carbon Tubes vs. Aluminum with Kavenz

While the testing video was pretty funny, I’m really looking forward to seeing this project progress. Filament wound tubes have some definite advantages when it comes to creating an efficient structure (ie. low weight for a given stiffness and strength, and minimal voids in the layup). Not to mention a lot of flexibility in the way you can layup the...

Posting this in both Tech Rumors threads for visibility. Looks like a new/updated ohlins rear shock, as well as a different airspring top cap on the updated fork.

Combining some 2024-2025 redux and hopes for 2026, are there any rumors on consumer-focused data acquisition systems a la Motion Instruments - something much more accurate and useful than Shockwiz, but not nearly as complex as what's currently available. Anybody know if Spesh is considering doing anything with MI other than sitting on the IP? Maybe integrating it into their bikes in some sort of proprietary fashion? Been quiet for quite some time.
