A sub 1k full suspension bike isn't worth riding... especially so in 160/160 format where you can't hid poor suspension behind a firm feel with limited travel. The last FS i test rode in this bracket was a giant stance at ~1,600 dollars a hard tail would have been my choice in that price range. As @ervin321 mentioned... There aren't great examples left of niche markets being able to sustain affordability. Hell, same could be said of groceries. The path forward for bikes is relatively clear, just like it is if you're into cars, motorcycles or other gear based hobbies...

There’s no head tube gusset on the right bike so I would guess that’s being considered. Neko had issues with the early ones cracking near the gusset, might be a net negative to have a gusset there if he went to butted tubes vs the plain gauge ones the early bikes were made of

Unless Dak left Mondraker to find a bigger paycheck I don't see how Greenland ending up there makes sense. Nukeproof sure, Atherton doing kinda his own thing you bet, but the only way I see Mondraker trading one out for the other is if Dak left and they could pickup Greenland for less or the same money.

I recently got the new Dissector v2 (MaxTerra EXO 2.4WT) aka baby Assegai and it is exactly something I always dreamt of for a short travel trail bike (140/130). I use my small bike for XC type riding in the rockies. Conditions are usually very dry, loose dirt and loose rock on top of hardpack. The side knobs are wide yet not too tall. This makes them very stable and gives you that DHF level locked in feeling during hard cornering. Lack of side knob stability was my main complaint with Forekaster v2 and this solves that. The center tread...

Im excited for the new Dissector. Unless things are really gnarly, I see no reason for a bigger front time on my all moutain bike. Currently running DHF/DHR2 combo and its so slow and draggy while climbing. Dissector/Recon or Dissector/Forekaster seem like the move on that bike.

As I've been saying... the new DHF II is going to become a go-to for World Cup riders front and even rear. Jackson proved me right this weekend! (Front and rear) Perfect tread for WC racing on most tracks. Similar to the beloved High Roller III but with more braking traction and predictability across the tread (what the Assegai provides). Won't clear mud like a HR3, but it will become the go-to on mixed and dry tracks. Super hardpack tracks may still see the Aseegai as a favorite, but I think the DHF2 will likely be more popular on the...

I've been running the new Dissector in the rear (MaxxGrip DoubleDown) the past three days in Whistler. Here is a wear update at 57 miles, 10,600 ft climbing and 15,000 ft descending. Initial thoughts: Sick rear tire for down country and trail riding. Side lugs have good support, transit knobs add consistency when leaning over, and it rolls nice and fast. It's also got deep enough knobs that it can grab traction in moderately loose/mixed soil. I've really enjoyed how it allows my rear wheel to settle through supported corners. My rear wheel will slightly break loose and whip around...

A interesting point is the Hycline has 26” available and WTB doesn’t, and hasn’t ever by the looks of it. It definitely looks to be the same mold as well, but the cheap one has 30 tpi listed which is interesting as it kinda eliminates these as just leftover production that were sold off.
