@Primoz, wasnt your comment about HP bikes in general, and that was before the GT bike I think. Either way, just poking some fun Side note, I pulled trigger on a V2 Druid, and am very much looking forward to it. It might be, but the cost comparison from a mass market fork, thats been on sale for 4 years now, is pretty apples to grenades. In talking to the aforementioned suspension tuner, who is certified for both Push, and Fox, his attitude was the quality (internals, machining, tolerances) were light years different between the products. Not to mention the rate of repairs (I can only assume he has scaled it in his mind) was vastly different. So if you take some of that into account, the cost difference could be well justified. Mix in the local manufacturing, and all that...

Anybody can tell me what master cylinder diameter the Mavens have? DB8 should be the same 9.5mm like the codes, but multiple outlets mentioned that for the mavens the diameter was dajusted but they don't say to what or how much - maybe someone of you knows? Besides that pulled the trigger and looking forward to test them, can compare them to Hope T4V4 and some Cascade North Forks with the RSC lever with the cascade cams.

codes have pretty awful power considering it's sram's DH brakes, the force needed to the lever is always too much to have some decent stopping power at the rotor, Dominions, dhr evo, hope v4, mt7, these are all way more powerful and with a much lighter lever. therefore they need to step up their game with the Mavens

From my experience with calipers, bolted vs mono block isn’t all that important as long as the bolted interface is done properly. That entails getting the fasteners as close to the rotor as possible and maximizing contact area between the two halves. Most the deflection should be between the joint/bridge and the bottom edge of the caliper regardless of how it’s constructed. In my mind for bikes, most the benefit of a mono block lies in packaging. Not having to worry about big bolts frees up space. The bridge across the center of magura calipers would be hard to fit...

I assume it is a two piece caliper, those bolts are how it is bolted together. They did this with the original Code calipers in the mid 2000's.

Every bike is different and people have different experiences on them. "Playful" is different to everyone. I highly recommend demo'ing some bikes out there. I've read reviews and demo'd and had completely different experiences than the reviewer. Get a bike that is the most fun for what you want to get out of it. Races are such a small part of the overall ride time. I think a 29er vs MX would be negligible in a race personally. Most pros who do videos and test find its 1% difference from what I've seen. One thing that I think gets overlooked...

Still super boost. Doesn't bother me, but it'll bother others. The fact that, special edition pink aside, it's almost the same colors, baffles me... For the consumer that doesn't live on Internet forums like I do, going to be hard to spot the differences that make a new one worth the spend vs. last years NOS or a nice used one. I feel bad for their dealers.

Chris Canfield with his CBF. Canfield was also making high pivot idler bikes that worked, way before it was cool. I am not sure why CBF hasn't caught on more over the years as it is a pretty amazing platform that is a good compromise of plushness and efficiency.
