“Admit” is a curious choice of word. What is it you think we are not “admitting” or possibly even “hiding”, then?

I have Canfield 155 on my enduro bike. The lack of pedal strikes in the low setting is amazing.

CNC alloy lug bonded to alloy tubes makes so much sense for small frame builder. Can build around easily available tubes, bond joint be slightly away from high stress area and custom geometry should still be possible if desired depending on design. Really excited to see where this could go in the next 3-5 years.

I haven't seen this photo of the FrameWorks lugged bike. The lines and flow of this frame look amazing.

I'll take your money, I know the lock I use like the back of my hand. But in reality, counterpoint, would you want to ride a setup that has a 10kmh minimum? Also, the crowns look like this to me:

To each thier own but that turning radius looks unusable for anything other than going straight down the hill.

I do wonder if anyone will ever publish any actual data to prove that a lighter lever is always better, because so far I have only ever seen pretty anecdotal info on the topic, which is of pretty little value as far as I am concerned. It's great that we're starting to see people discuss hydraulic leverage as a metric by which we can actually measure braking power. However, it would be great to see mechanical and hydraulic leverage curves for brakes at various different reach lever reach measurements (not everyone has the same size hands, and I would assume...

death gripping Will kill your hands waaaay faster than brakes - having to declaw is often poor Technique with death grip and bumps. DM & A-line is often death gripping... especially through the braking bumps. Mavens arnt the issue. I did 3 days recently at skyline QT with Maven SLV's 200mm rs2 rotors on a 180mm bike - and as someone who suffers from clawing, I infact had less with the mavens as you can brake later and for shorter time. To reference Dale stones vid, Stop dragging your brakes.

Mountain bikers seem to have the weakest fingers ever out of any group I've been a part of. The Maven's feel fine.

We gotta stop bringing up f1 all the time. Those guys have ruined their own sport with nerdy data farming and it is boring as fuck to watch. Keep DH DH.

More progressive bikes provide more mid stroke support IF they are sagged the same. What’s often overlooked is the fact that sag at the wheel is increasingly greater than the sag at the shock as a bike gets more progressive. This gives the perception of less mid stroke and riding deep in travel, but is usually just the result of having more sag at the wheel than expected. The other nuance is how damping is affected. You have to run a stiffer tune. In the end if you aren’t hammering on the bike none of this is ideal, but it’s...

The lack of graphs isn't due to the Athertons, it's coming from Dave Weagle. I've asked Ibis for graphs before when considering their bikes, and they told me they aren't allowed to share them due to the agreement with DW.

It’s not fair to the Athertons to assume that that’s their view. Given the super customisable nature of their bikes it’s no surprise they don’t have public graphs. However they do quite openly offer the option for you “to speak to an expert” if you require further information. The geometry and sizing measurements are all there on their tech sheets so it shouldn’t be that hard to plug those numbers in and get a basic idea. And isn’t that all the graphs do anyway!

I’m not sure I see a downside to progression in the mid 30% range other than small volume air shocks not being good and some people not being able or use full travel. Some of the most well received links we make are around 35%. To date my fastest lap time on predator is on a bike that’s 36%. The thing I see giving people a hard time as of late is anti rise. There is still a very wide range between different bikes here. Sometimes I get the feeling that people perceive no downside to super low anti rise...

Am I the only person who cannot gather up an ounce of excitement for sram maven brakes? WC DH riders were on guides before the new codes came out. The codes are sweet, saints have always been awesome, the new Hayes brakes sound pretty good too. Idk man seems like we are dissecting a product that doesn’t really need to exist.
