Agreed on the pivot being mid-high and split pivot design rather than Horst link. Rear end looks quite similar to the Hope HB916 but with a higher pivot and smaller rocker link as mentioned. I think this design lends itself to being quite flexible for fine tuning kinematics while still being nicely packaged. Should we start placing bets on what...

Is it just me getting jaded or is 6 grand for what is more or less a one-off frame and a bit out there feature wise not THAT outlandish? Haven't we seen less for more?

It is because the open reference is not fixed, but the closed reference is fixed. It is due to tolerances. Count from closed - always.

I really liked the Strive platform, the suspension really impressed me and I think the shapeshifter is cool for big days on the bike. BUT, having raced in Tasmania before I felt like the Spectral would be better suited for those rounds with it being more nimble, for me. With the long break after the first block I think I'll have plenty of time to get used to the Strive for the Euro rounds.

Santa Cruz acting like they make some high quality frames because they don't glue in liners but at the same time show a void in their carbon which the unnamed frame does not have. The glued in liners might not be pretty, but at least they don't play a part in the frame's integrity

the release of the transition relay shows us that the new sram groups are called X0 and XX, the 1 in the name is gone. guess an official release is imminent.

A winning setup doesn't last forever...I made the choice that I thought would bring me success for many years to come. Canyon has a bigger commitment to racing and winning and I've always felt I wanted a little extra help to go even faster. I recorded a podcast with Downtime last week so that should be out soon and explain some more.

A riding buddy of mine had a set for the last season, he’s enjoyed them. Build quality is really nice, they look gorgeous, lever feel is super solid and short throw. Power was good but not crazy. He’s tried most brakes available right now (mt7, cura4, dominions, now he’s waiting for some Trickstuff’s and Hope T4 v4’s). Paul Aston also...

The fact that SRAM made a proprietary derailleur hanger that is also backwards compatible to be used as a “regular” hanger is admirable. These are the kinds of “new standards” I can get behind.

Here’s a picture Jesse took himself, while in line at whistler, and sent to me asking to post it so he didn’t get in trouble. No details beyond that, so do with it what you will. (Disclaimer: parts of this statement are false)

Looks like this is a smaller, slimmed down version of the previous USD fork they had put on the Nicolai e-moto. I believe Franco had mentioned them working on an mtb usd fork on the “bikes and big ideas” podcast too. Very interested to see all the details on it! .
