7/1/2026 11:27am Guys and gals, one less post ride beer will do what a $1k drivetrain can't do. Chill, and go ride your bikes (though maybe not today if you're in the heat zone)

6/22/2026 6:08am 5atm is the standard. Prosecco is usually around a high 3. @Loisfer yes, sparkling wines have an unwritten standard coming from most places.

6/20/2026 4:30pm Vali Höll's 10th place finish today was only the 3rd time she's finished 10th or lower as an Elite World Cup rider and the 7th time she's finished below 5th. Last year she finished 14th at MSA due to a flat after leading through the first 3 splits. In 2023 at Les Gets she crashed in the first turn and finished 10th.

6/19/2026 4:24pm dak's quali POV - still so hard to believe Top 11 in Q1 are separated by just 1.07. Add in Luca (fastest of day) and Amaury and Angel who also ran low 2:49 in Q2 and you get 14 riders in 1.1 seconds, just shy of half the finalists.

6/19/2026 4:24pm So which North American male rider is going to win this round?
. I only kid, but it would insane if somehow the streak kept going, even crazier if Dak or Pinkerton take it as a first timer, which they're both in a good position to try for.

6/19/2026 2:52pm I'm really happy to see Men's Junior Nathan DeVaux starting 5th tomorrow after going 4th in timed training. I had never heard of him until I recently watched the short documentary Dyfi Groms about the young mountain bikers and their families in the Dyfi Valley community. If you haven't seen it, you'll have to trust me it's a half-hour or so well spent. It's free to watch on Youtube:

6/4/2026 7:21am I will probably get flamed for this, and will offer the caveat that I have only been skimming this page, but I feel like these bikes are great propositions and are in my eyes cool bikes because they’re made to be cheap and practical workhorses for younger demographics that don’t have as much disposable income and want a playful park bike that they can maintain themselves. Maybe I’m just haven’t been following the thread well enough, but I don’t see why the ebike bit is necessary to explain the appeal. Not everyone can afford bougie boutique racing machines, or ebikes...

5/15/2026 5:46am One thing missing here is the fact that with the proliferation of composite know how, there are more people around able to safely repair a wider range of issues. Rather than pretending we are recycling carbon bikes I’d love to see more frames designed in ways that facilitate repair. Repair is verifiable in a way that recycling is not, it is cost effective for everyone concerned, and it is as close as you’ll get to good for the environment. It probably flows on to other design decisions to ensure repair is viable (like bearing placement, etc etc), but designing bikes...
