The reason flight attendant has a huge uptake in XC is because SRAM sponsored teams are required to run it. I know four different world cup athletes and they have all said they would just prefer a manual lockout. When it works properly it's alright but it's heavy and frequently has connectivity problems between all the components. It seems more casual users like it with one less thing to think about while riding and the weight doesn't matter to a more casual rider. As for trail/enduro bikes, ever wonder why every single SRAM EWS athlete stopped riding LYRIK and started...

https://www.performancetrends.com/PDFs/Ohlins-TTX-Shocks-Tech-Adjustmen… is a pretty good read that talks about using poppet valves in a TTX 40. I'm not an engineer, I don't play one on TV, but I do think that sometimes people on the Internet get wound up concerning the finer points of X vs Y. Everything has tradeoffs and various systems have benefits and limitations so at the end of the day a poor/limited implementation of a system that contains X or Y may not address or overcome those limitations. Arguing about surrons and surron demographics on the MTB tech rumors thread. Sick. I wonder if SRAM considered 6 pistons when working on the Mavens. Maybe after the 1000th piston massage, some SRAM tech was like maybe we should just add 2 more pistons.

Don’t hate the tool. Hate the “tool.” Utilized in the proper context, they are loads of fun. It’s unfortunately too easy to act the fool on one.

And most of the time they were standing mostly on the axle anyway. It never seemed that impressive. But a good bit they managed to get all these reviewers do for no real reason.

So, is Ric just trying to be a jerk? Relishing in the fact that he’s not there? Not sure I get the joke bud, we’re all kind of pissed that the commentary sucks.
