Not the DH16, but I have used the DH22 in the past (which I assume has the same casing). If you ride a lot of bikepark or fast and rough trails it might be ok, but I found it too stiff for more general UK enduro stuff

Agreed on all points. I’ve also thought about throwing a dh16 on the back - looks pretty comparable to a dhr2. Do you have any experience with that tire? It’s only available in their DH casing, so might be too stiff for me as I haven’t had issues with their enduro casing.

My experience with the racing line MS is they roll equal to or faster than an equivalent maxx grip Maxxis tire, which is my baseline. Not too worried if the performance line doesn’t roll all that much faster, mostly just want the tread to last longer. Different priorities than you, maybe. What performance series tires have you tried? Wild Enduro MS? Or the older ones? I don’t know if the compounds/casings are the same between the old and new Michelin tires

They were mounted on different bikes but the Wild Enduro MS mounted front & rear roll way faster than a Hillbilly/Cannibal combo. I agree with @NonLineon - the Wild Enduro MS fly under the radar a bit (in these forums at least). I have been using them exclusively for the last year or so across all UK condituons and I...

Here is some non radial tire talk - I’ve been running the Michelin Wild Enduro MS Racing Line front and rear for a season and a half now. In general I’d say it’s been the best set and forget tire I have used. Similar loose condition performance to other all-rounders like the Magic Mary or High Roller, but holds up better on hard pack. I really like the casing too - supportive without being harsh, not too heavy, and haven’t had any flats (yet). Thinking I’ll try the new Performance Line option as a rear tire to get more life...

Michelin still make the Wild Enduro rear that is pretty close to being a semi-slick in a tough casing.

This one?? I’m really hoping it’s sooner rather than later, seems like it could be a fantastic option as a front tire. @schwalbai, should I be patient???

Maybe Im missing something but how in the right mind is a company like Santa Cruz releasing a bike with very little travel, high price point, and the rear shock comes stock with all of its tokens in use? If you needed more resistance youre just up shit creek until Cascade makes something? Im genuinely so confused how they go from a well done VPP to a simple 4 bar and screwed that up when every other company can do it. Like who signed off on this?

Frame kinematics that require stuffing air cans full of volume spacers and are a big no-go for coil shocks? Hmmm, I feel like we have been here before.

That sounds an awful lot like they actually didn't get the leverage curve they wanted. Nothing wrong with designing a frame to work with the natural progressivity of an air shock, but if you use all the volume spacers in the air shock you spec stock, you probably would be better served with a more progressive leverage curve.

Where are we at with the GT frames conspiracy for some of the SC bikes? I like that one. Tallboy providing some more material for the believers.

Take it easy buddy. I’m not trying to derail the entire conversation but also think it’s allowed to have an aside now and again. There’s plenty of off topic quips that go on in this thread.
