8/6/2026 12:44am https://www.bikeradar.com/news/add-weight-go-faster-orange-bucks-the-li… WHATS OLD IS NEW AGAIN. Chris Porter has been not-so-secretly adding weights to world cup DH bikes since the early 2010s, apparently. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=myFJTO8mdtw Then there's this from nearly a decade ago, TLDR Stott and Porter find that weights make average Joe's faster, but not his hand selected Pro riders (at least for this track)

8/3/2026 12:40am Long time reader, first time poster. I've heard rumours of an an Ibis HD7 this year from my LBS, and just noticed that the Ibis Ripmo & Ripley have had their build specs updated with the new deore groupset yet the HD6 hasn't..

8/3/2026 12:36am They have nothing wrong with their bikes. Like remove the brand from the frame and Im intrigued. But you put ari on it and I just hate it. Astroturfing, diapers and basic bikes to look like theyre apart of the same boat as Canyon or Specialized, then they just have this design… they just infuriate me lol.

8/3/2026 12:32am especially that blue hardtail... super slack effective seat angle. I don't have the visual cues to work out what size those bikes are, but taller people (their intended market) are going to struggle on that arent they?

ebikepartyshirt Liked a forum topic Does anyone actually believe T Type shifts under load better?
7/21/2026 1:33am I came from XTR 12 speed and now have XO T type. While T type satisfactorily shifts under load, there is no way it is any better than XTR. It still pops and pings and makes some shitty noises when you are really hammering on it, just like XTR. To be clear, they are both really good at shifting under load compared to others. Is there some Kool Aid that was supposed to come in my T type box?

7/16/2026 2:18am I'm dealing with the dreaded chain not seating/ skipping on the 3rd cog issue on my SO's bike with T90. Shifts great across the range then the ramps on the 3rd cog are too wide or cassette was manufactured out of tolerance spacing. Looking into a cassette warranty now. I find the new T type setup scheme to be more confusing and janky. I never had an issue adjusting a B limit screw or H/L stop. Jamming hex spanner into a slot as a setup datum and hand tensioning the "B limit" while torquing correctly, with EXACTLY the right (proprietary)...

7/14/2026 11:34pm Honestly, the lack of "fudgeability" by using the limits + b tension screws to deal with any cable/housing related issues puts a hell of a lot of pressure on the tension adjuster on the sram 90 shifter and its just... not up to the task. I think I'd be singing a different tune if it felt as nice to deal with (and worked as well) as the XO and XX1 stuff did in the previous generation. I recently put an XO DH shifter on a madrone DH jab and my god its so nice, and in my opinion what the...

7/13/2026 10:36am Well, you would have to compare the spec radials to spec gravity tires, not grid trail since they are gravity tires and would weigh the same. I know a bunch of people on Schwalbe trail radials and they love them. Same with Schwalbe gravity. Only had one friend who complained about them being slow and giving up on them. And he def was on trails because he doesn't ever us dh casing, even when he really, really should. But he has lucked out so far, so good for him.

7/8/2026 10:46pm Little insight I got. July release for yeti Avinox cvt system is not 100% and far out from coming to the market. Apparently issues with the system auto shifting down when rider puts high watts combine with motor. Sounds like System protecting itself. Not sure if this is just a software or the system not being able to handle it. We’ll see. Some high ups in specialized are not happy. A nasty email sent to engineers/ product developers to step it up and motor/gearbox combo bike priority 1 Specialized has an unreleased bike the industry will get to see at...

7/8/2026 4:44am Let me say more clearly what was implied in my previous post: those old road bike rolling resistance tests tell me that our own internal rolling resistance gauges in our brains are not very trustworthy. I'm not convinced that radial tires roll slower because the only evidence we have is that they feel like they roll slower. 21mm tires pumped up to 120 psi feel fast as hell on asphalt. As you go faster, you get more and more vibration feedback from the tire, giving the sensation of greater and greater speed. A 32mm tubeless GP5000 pumped up to 60...
