Iirc they use the product as shipped, as it's much more relevant than people mix and matching which doesn't happen on stock bikes. It's one of the better brake tests done, sorry it's not to your standards. I'll kindly wait your entirely free review of 14 brake systems in and out of the lab, until then, maybe be a touch more accepting.

Kinda derailing this thread now, but a couple of counter arguments: -XTR, XT, and SLX aren't "wildly" different in the results, there's about 10% decrease in recorded power between each of them with stock pads (they didn't test XT and SLX with the Sinter pads). Since they used the average of 20 decelerations, I would say there is some underlying (=real) reason for the differences. -TRP's DH-R EVO always felt a bit low on brake-power-to-finger-power ratio for me, compared to several other brakes... -remember that they tested with constant power at the lever (4 kg of force on the levers...

That's fair, but the GX axs build is 6900 for the allied and the current Tallboy is 7149 for almost the same build... Unless the 4 bar Tallboy comes with a price drop why on earth would I get it over the allied? Or over a Norco Fluid or transition smuggler? Just going the long way around to talk trash on the new tallboy SC has to do or say something to justify the change from VPP to Horst. There is too much competition in that space to just drop the bike and call it a day. Talk about the...

It’s honestly kind of a shame it failed. It builds a better wheel for long travel 29 applications and it’s a standard that already existed before boost. It’s just a DH hub. Let’s all collectively blame Trek. Boost 148 was their idea.

Going from shuttle big boy toy to frameworks news …. Kinda gave me Luddite whiplash. Those raw alloominimimum frames are SO CLASSIC, love it. Also, pivot with the damned reach allready. We finally got them to lengthen the stays, add some stack, use a modern motor, not paint it pastel green and pastel orange….. and and and and ….that reach????? I get it 535 is a bit much for opening a mold for. Totally get it , but could you just go 510? 514? Like come on chris.

Charge port placement, not good for anyone outside of Arizona because water. Cheesy name for an adjustable seat tube? Come on. 9k for a base model but that wasn't surprising was it? Same CS length across the sizes, bandaided with an adjustable drop out. Fox trying to get rid of the podiums that aren't selling? Cant wait for these to be in the way on the trails. Ridden by people who have no business riding anything but the canal path.

I did the radic/maven combo at least 1-2 years ago. Downgrade from stock. Longer throw, hate maven pad changes.

While it would be a big departure from there current FourBy4 platform, you could be onto something... The bike behind it looks like a Chilcotin. They had a fad colorway in 2024 that looks like a match, and there looks like the "n" from Chilcotin on the toptube on one of the other pics. Plus someone really went out of their way to get rid of the other bike on the rack...

The fascination with Dak, Gwin and BK on this forum is wild and getting so boring! The pivot team are wearing different helmets who cares they are a team and they are racing, I’m sure the way that the bike industry is going people are getting sponsors but can wrangle a deal with other companies if they want, like in most sports they play for the same teams but they don’t have to wear the same boots/shoes/goggles
