LABA7 launches the MICRO Shock Dyno, a tabletop machine with lab-grade testing quality. It runs from a standard single-phase socket and holds velocity as low as 1 mm/s throughout the cycle.
“Until now, a shock dyno meant a room. If teams could not bring one to the track, setups were tuned by feel and generally went out untested. That means a loss for the team as they spent a whole session learning what a dyno could answer in minutes,” said Andrius Liškus, CEO of LABA7. “To solve this, we made a dyno with a uniquely small footprint, that is easy to take anywhere, and is very affordable.”

MICRO holds a set velocity at every crank position, from 1 mm/s to 1000 mm/s. A closed-loop servo motor with an absolute multiturn encoder makes that possible. LABA7 developed a special controller that tracks crank position through the full cycle and corrects the velocity as the load changes.

Multiple weeks at bike parks, local Enduro races and weekly rips on my local trails. No noticeable chain slap from the rear mech. 🤷♂️

That's the experience that everyone my shop has set up on new di2 has had as well, and these are some of the most noise sensitive people I've ever worked with.
I installed hardwired Di2 on to my Bosch Wild with 11 speed Linkglide. I removed a SRAM 11 speed so the weight gain was significant which in my head bummed me out, although it's the exact same weight as GX T-Type. Imagine my surprise when not only was the gear spread much nicer, not only did I gain a lot of functionality, not only does the Linkglide shift positively and amazing (95% as smooth as T-type, but faster), not only did my running cost go way down and my relaibility went way up, but shockingly my rear suspension instantly got notably better. I've been on the same Avy Bomber for years now as it was also on my previous bike.
Those rear derailleur clutches are fighting your suspension the entire time reducing overall rear suspension performance, the Shimano spring is better although it does come with a bit of occasional thumping noises over the roughest bits. Maybe a dozen times over a very technical jump infested 15-mile ride. It definitely doesn't rattle riding down the trail and it's not a big deal to me. Obviously, the noise you hear is dependent on many things (ie. rear suspension design, your riding, hub engagement, your hearing, tire carcass and psi, etc.) but in my opinion, the STFU would do nothing for the noise because what I'm hearing is a light 'thud' when the derailleur snaps back, not the chain slapping the chainstay. The XTR I bought has an incredibly stiff spring as well. The chain is well maintained.
In my head I always questioned why the gearbox bike I rode had such nice suspension, when the unsprung mass reduction was only about 10-15% of the total weight back there. I could absolutely feel the difference but mathematically it never made any sense. It makes sense now. The gearbox bikes (and I presume the upcoming eCVT bikes) feel like magic primarily because the derailleur clutch is gone, not because of the lack of 300 grams off of a 3000 gram assembly.

Things like rigidity of the frame and scotch yoke could be more of a limiting factor - my dyno weighs twice as much but has similar speed/stroke specs. Things like the electronics and data processing are also important and you get what you pay for, so I'm not exactly endorsing it but it could be good as an entry level or 2nd portable dyno for some people. But I mostly just think its cute!

What cassette with derailleur for MTB weights 300g combined?
If clutch makes a noticeable difference to your suspension performance,it probably needs service or adjustment.

Obviously, the noise you hear is dependent on many things (ie. rear suspension design, your riding, hub engagement, your hearing, tire carcass and psi, etc.) but in my opinion, the STFU would do nothing for the noise because what I'm hearing is a light 'thud' when the derailleur snaps back, not the chain slapping the chainstay. The XTR I bought has an incredibly stiff spring as well. The chain is well maintained.
In my head I always questioned why the gearbox bike I rode had such nice suspension, when the unsprung mass reduction was only about 10-15% of the total weight back there. I could absolutely feel the difference but mathematically it never made any sense. It makes sense now. The gearbox bikes (and I presume the upcoming eCVT bikes) feel like magic primarily because the derailleur clutch is gone, not because of the lack of 300 grams off of a 3000 gram assembly.
They need a good AF affordable option in their ebike lineup for sure.

How good are the velocity/displacement/force specs?

Does anyone have info on when one could expect the new Avinox MG unit to come out? I know it was in a prototype state at Eurobike, but the bikes it was displayed on mostly looked very complete (and ready for production?)
Curious if its something we might see for next spring/summer, or if its further away in time

Things like rigidity of the frame and scotch yoke could be more of a limiting factor - my dyno weighs twice as much but has similar speed/stroke specs. Things like the electronics and data processing are also important and you get what you pay for, so I'm not exactly endorsing it but it could be good as an entry level or 2nd portable dyno for some people. But I mostly just think its cute!

Yeah, bit of a bummer. Bespoked is always a two-wheeled nerd fest. Dresden especially seems sweet for the mountain bikes. Oregon is so heavy on the road and gravel. Have a feeling Osaka will be the same.

If clutch makes a noticeable difference to your suspension performance,it probably needs service or adjustment.
