Dario is actually a breath of fresh air in mountain bike media, same as Jason. His perspective is a welcome change from the usual safe, generic industry takes the rest of the media recycles time and time again.
I’ll concede that I was a little harsh on the guy yesterday. I’m sure he’s a great dude. I personally find Mike more relatable. I would argue that the real “breath of fresh air” comes from Charlie over here…

I would be so much more keen to use DVO products if they moved away from the lime green ano and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
The Onyx forks come in black with grey highlights? There's not that much green ano showing on the forks product page? https://dvosuspension.com/product-category/suspension/fork/ And my Jade X's are black with green coils, but you can get those coils in black if you like?
Don’t they all have green ano dials and such? My jadex coil does. It’s a small thing but it looks off on a lot of builds. Fine shock though. The pistachio green fork above looks great.
Speaking of DVO, I recently saw that they have versions of their forks with WP cone valves. Has anyone ridden one of those, or even better, ridden both the WP version and the regular version to offer a comparison?

I have a feeling the new Reign will use the same lower linkage setup as the new Reign Advanced E+. Hopefully the Aluxx frame is still available if that happens. I know on some other bikes with split seat tubes, they stopped making the AL version because they didn't hold up. As a bit of a Giant fanboy myself, the frame on that Reign E+ looks like a perfect version of the Maestro system, but I'm not a huge fan of longer travel bikes in carbon.

Their current gen Reign aluminium frame doesn't hold up either. The chainstays have a little hole where the shifting cable should enter. That's where they like to start cracking. Also the quality control is bad on these frames in my opinion. Not cleanly pressed in bearings leaving edges in the bearing seats, bad alignment. They have stuff to improve on for the next generation, that's for sure

Yeah, they've never been the burliest enduro bikes out there, that's for sure. I feel like the extra flex helps me more than it hurts, for off chambers and slippery conditions. I have a mulleted 2018 with a Cascade Link, and it's been pretty bulletproof for me but I'm more of a 'ride a big bike everywhere because it's comfortable' type of rider. The new electric Reign gives me hope that they're chasing a more burly chassis, because at least that lower link looks a lot more stout. I know on my generation Reign a lot of people broke the lower links. Nice thing about Giants when they get older, giantbikespares.com has an unbelievable inventory of spare parts for older bikes.
Giant have lifetime warranty on all of their frames, which doesn't seem to be common knowledge (I personally had no idea). They replaced my 8 year old revolt frame with absolutely no qualms. Definitely moved them up the list when considering bikes in future.

From a shop standpoint, Giant was really good on the warranty side of things..

If I remember they're only on gas gas ebikes, I've seen a couple come through my shop, and from a surface level it they feel pretty good. You can find those ebikes for cheap too, X0 transmission builds for like 4k because no body really bought them, if the drivetrain, suspension, other components are worth it to you, it's honestly a pretty sorted E bike, especially for the cost.

IIRC the WP valved forks / shocks were supposed to be OEM only for the gasgas ebikes, but when that business got dropped, DVO had inventory to unload.

Minnaar 17 questions. He answers about running the Bosch anti-lock system
Questions asked 1. How many times have you asked Jordi for setup advice at the FOX camp you’re at? 2. Since you’re retired and all, what percentage of your rides are on an ebike now instead of a pedal bike? 3. Loic basically said that 29-inch wheels arriving in DH saved your career and helped you earn more titles. Thoughts? 4. Do you think you’ve earned more money than Loic? 5. Who do you have winning DH World Champs 2026…Elite Men and Women? 6. As a tall rider, are you excited about those new 32-inch wheels? 7. Will 32-inch wheels bring you out of retirement to chase more World Cup titles? 8. What’s the amount of the biggest bonus you ever received in your career? You don’t have to specify who paid it out (but we’d love to know). 9. You broke onto the scene as a late teenager. Do you think it’s really that much different now for the kids coming up than it was for you? 10. Do riders and teams still have fun at World Cups or is it all business? 11. Line spotters during DH practice. What do you think about them? 12. Will Norco ever release the DH bike to the public? 13. What’s up with the anti-lock brakes on your e-bike? (our forum nerds see everything) 14. During your career, did you avoid energy drink sponsorships or did they just never work out? 15. Do you think in 20 years, we’ll look back at energy drink sponsorships like we look at cigarette sponsorships from the 70s and 80s? 16. Do you think social media has a negative impact on an athlete’s race performance? 17. Wouldn’t you rather be telling Vital MTB-ers to like and subscribe instead of answering these dumb questions?

As for the “boomer core-lord” burn;
A Vital MTB Tech Rumors contributors and enjoyers meetup would be a secret society event I would be fired up to show up to. Somewhere like Whistler in the summer or an apres sea otter. It could be fully unofficial to uninvolve the legal teams of the vital overlords. We could make a partiful and t shirts. All would be merry. Core lords could flex. I would go.

Miss Richard Cunningham...
Wether you love or hate Dario the moment he said "as an architecture major" had me like: "of course you are". 😂

What's the suspension tuning thread? I want to talk DVO without clogging up this one
Like DVO is just selling the WP stuff?
Think we could bring this one out for suspension tech and tuning https://www.vitalmtb.com/forums/The-Hub,2/The-Suspension-Tech-Show,10818
yes https://dvosuspension.com/product-category/clearance/

Getting rid of the bright green would make me consider them, ditched a jade X because it didn't ride great and was ugly, even compared to a bomber cr.
Anyone see the teaser by Transition for a new release tomorrow? Is it the new Spur?
Is there a dedicated thread for the "ebike question"

his glasses should have been a telling sign
Dario is that friend in every group who's a bit different but you like him anyway...
I bet Dario can make an amazing Americano.
