Why is that confirmation of mechanical transmission?
any other details of this unreleased bike?
I guess it’s not a 100% confirmation, but the “s1000” nomenclature is used by Sram currently for a lower end, non series, MTB crank set. Maybe it’s just a place holder name for the unreleased drive chain, but it was interesting to see it none the less.
As for the bike, it has a pretty neat little solution to a problem I don’t think many people think is a problem.
It's not for me as I'll stay awsy from their plastic stuff, but business wise (directly targeting ebikes, integration of ABS) I guess it's a very smart move...
Looks like Mark Matthews is riding a proto bike in lastest youtube vid. Carbon, in-frame storage. Maybe carbon Alpine Trail?

it was just some new paint job on the Tarmac SL8 for some TDF team https://www.instagram.com/p/C8r1UffSyaH/
That's some pricey paint... $16,500

Are you sure it wasn't just a misprint: "SRAM $1,000 Transmission"?

Surely a new stumpy is coming soon?
What rumored Shimano development?
There was talk of a new Saint brake in this thread that would be 6 piston, would have modulation, modern high end braking power and Shimano ease of bleeding...
some pit bits from EDR combloux

You can see what I assume is the new Stumpy in Charlie Murrays recent youtube video while he's interviewing Richie at about the 9:30 mark

Looks like the current stumpy. Still has the frame cross bar on the other side of the Rear Shock.
shimano launches race-specific firmware update for ep8

Higher Assist in Boost Mode
Customizable Max Speed Cutoff
Uninterrupted Power Delivery
The most exciting feature delivered with the new EP801 firmware update is the extended assist carryover when the rider stops pedaling. This is a key race advantage…
Now we’re talking! Push this a little farther and we can call the one good, strong kickstart a pedal stroke and give me a few thousand seconds of ‘carryover’. That’ll getcha up the local hill :D
Maxxis Minion DHR II 2.5 is now here, 29 and 27.5

I have an unreleased 140/150mm bike in the shop that comes stock with a Fox 36 and Mavens type build kit with a completely new inline fox shock with the bike manufacturers logo on it and a HUGE air can. It's very strange to see an inline shock on a build like this so I'm interested in whats going on with it. Apparently next week we'll know.
It kind of looks like an RP23 with a high volume air can but 1.5x the size
That’ll be the Stumpy.
Fair play to Specialized for keeping it out of sight so well
Mavens eh? Sounds like sram is running away from Codes as quick as possible.

I think the shock was also hinted at in the most recent podcast between specialized and PB. Really curious about how it performs and pretty cool to see a frame manufacturer working in tandem with a company like Fox to push innovation in a meaningful way (beyond electronic gnomes spinning compression dials).
If it is the SJ, I wonder if it’s the S-Works spec? Mavens and a proprietary shock doesn’t sound particularly entry level or even mid spec range. I hope I’m wrong though! If it is the S-works, hopefully you don’t have to have perfect teeth to afford it…
Like Fox Brain or Reaktiv? Not really excited for a bike coming with a special shock. The past shown it was never a way to go. What a bummer if true.
Bigger companies working with proprietary shocks is historically not awesome.
Mine should be arriving on Saturday!
Vitus specified inline shocks on its most recent Escarpe, which developed 140 mm from a 65 mm stroke. By many accounts it worked pretty well because of the unusually low average leverage rate. Similar situation?
next year the g2 will be the cross country, codes for trail, maven for enduro and dh
