Aluminum is recyclable but do AL bikes ever actually get recycled? I think every bike bike ever ends up getting resold & ultimately in the hands of a random tweaker then ends it’s life either in a landfill or at the bottom of a body of water lol.
Has anybody ever actually taken a bike to a scrap yard?

I've seen zero evidence of aluminum frames being recycled. I ran bike shops for 10 years and never saw a recycling program. I still have never seen a hint of a recycling program, not at local shops and not at manufacturers. There is no link on manufacturer websites to "recycle your aluminum frame here" .
Aluminum is recyclable, but with no public easily accessable way to do it, the rate of it actually happening is likely close to zero.
Thats on you then,
There has always been, and always be, scrap yards that will happily take your steel or alu bikes, strip them down, and recycle them. Just the same as cars, appliances, construction materials, etc.
Realistically, bikes getting sold, and turned over to multiple owners is the best possible scenario. We often forget the hierarchy Reduce, Re-use, Recycle

This is the correct answer. Even the cracked Kona frames I had I sold to someone who "was going to fix it" but more than likely just strip it for parts. Has anyone in this thread ever actually disposed of a bike frame before?
Even my carbon road bike that got hit by a car (while I was on it) I have in the shed as a keepsake, despite being a crumpled ball of carbon and plastic.

In the US I've never seen that. It could be happening depending on the individual shop being willing to take on the additional costs, but it is definitely not the norm in my area.

Maybe it's different in the US, here in the UK money from the scrapyard is a perk, provided you have a little room for storage there are no additional costs apart from time.
I've personally taken at least 3 frames to the scrapyard, plus various components. They are for sure being recycled, those companies wouldn't pay me money for that metal in order to just throw it away.
We also have people in vans driving around most towns looking for scrap metal in order to weigh it in and get paid for it.

New Warden for sure. I wouldn't be surprised t see a little more change from the previous version than we've seen on the other gen. 6 frames.

Manitou seems to be producing some great stuff lately. I personally haven't ridden one of their forks in about a decade, but I hear good things.
The Mezzer is on deep discount, so I wouldn't be surprised to see an update there as well.

I have the new Mattoc Pro and I freakin' love it, best-feeling fork I've ever ridden and yes, Mezzer is due too, been on deep discount for a while now.

Got on a deal for a Mezzer Exp and added the IRT. Pal recently upgraded from his factory 38 to a Mezz Pro as a result of a couple test rides on my bike. Hayes/Manitou have been on a tear the last 5 years.

Buddy of mine tried buying the Mara (not pro with piggyback) and they said they said "we won't be getting any more of those in stock, stay tuned".
Either discontinuing them or updating them.
The Mara and Mara Pro use a fixed negative spring pressure, and every review I've read has pointed to that as a glaring flaw in an otherwise decent shock package. I doubt sales have been strong for either shock, and I would not be surprised if Manitou introduced an updated version with a self-equalizing (or at least adjustable) air spring.

Rumor is new Mara Pro coming soon, maybe a new Mezzer to go with it?
I can only hope. I nabbed one for my Trance X and was way bummed that even with the short reservoir it doesn't clear the downtube at bottom out. Modelled a new res that should work as I was able to nip a bit over 4mm off the length and still use existing internals, but I gotta rebuild the lathe before trying to cut threads and hone a bore, much less pull the bottom out bumper and see if there'd still be clearance in a worst-case scenario bottom out. If there's a new unit coming, selfishly I am hoping that there's a retrofittable res that will clear, but I would not be surprised if they went with a res set up cross length to nip any length fitment issues in the bud.

Yep. I'm hoping for some change in negative spring. I've got a Mara Pro on my Propain Hugene and feel like I'm between the two volume air cans.
With the king can (high volume, more linear spring) it bottoms out too easily. I'd like to add more air pressure but I end up with basically zero sag. I'm currently running the smaller air can (more progression) and it is a hair too progressive and it is almost impossible to use the last bit of travel.
With an adjustable or self equalizing negative spring I think the king can would work.
Is clothing technology permitted in this tech thread? Or does it have to be rumor related as well? Because I'm a stinky guy, but man this morning I just got back from a 3000+ vert ride in the sun and I sweated like Fauci at a Senate hearing but when I got home my wife commented how my merino wool jersey (51%, $25 on sale at EVO) had 0 BO smell. This isn't the first time this miracle has manifested. Also, I feel it is excellent in the cold (sub 55 degrees) and heat as well.

Not sure I'd class Merino wool as a tech rumour, having been around since the 13th century...
But I'll agree it's the best material for pretty well any sports-related activity. I'm partial to Mons Royal stuff, especially the merino chamois shorts. Costco always has some version of a Merino shirt for sale, probably the best deal you can get.
Our local trash convenience sites have metal scrap dumpsters couldn't be any easier to get rid of aluminum/steel.
If you had a big enough pile of aluminum frames you could take to an actual scrapyard and get a few bucks.

New warden is a mullet and 170mm travel, with a max of 180mm in the rear. Also there's a new delirium coming too.
Manitou forks are so far ahead of the competition. Can't recommend them enough.
