The ride characteristics flex stay bikes give is subjective. Not everyone likes them which is clearly your point of view, but you don’t speak for everyone. On my SJEvo I had some velcro that I attached in the bottom inside of the frame and I'd strap down my tool bag. Made the bike dead quiet.

They want it to be as big as it needs to be to satisfy their profits. They really don’t care if it’s “big” for the benefit of the sport, only if it’s a benefit to them. The two don’t align and never will which is the crux of the problem.

Might be a controversial opinion but I think he probably has the right intentions of wanting to grow the sport across all disciplines but he's limited on what he can actually do when WB are wanting to squeeze everything cent out of the lemon they can and then discard it and move on to the next one. Looks like the new stumpjumper comp or the base model has a new NX style transmission. No cable to be seen so maybe electronic?
