12/17/2024 1:07pm Just got the new forks and a few other parts on, stoked to try this out on the weekend. 40’s have a 190mm air shaft in them Bar height has risen by 2cm, and that’s with replacing my 20mm rise bar with a 10mm rise, and running the forks as low as I can fit before the stanchions foul the bottom of my handlebars. Bb is probably a little higher but cascade link is arriving on Thursday so it’ll sag more, so who cares. With the cascade link it’ll be 190/190 I had a 180mm 38 on there beforehand. Got...

12/9/2024 7:42pm Finally rode this thing… feels close enough to a DH bike, still pedalable although pretty miserable. I lowered the bars about 10mm after riding so well see how that goes next time. 41.6 lbs with tools, no water bottle… Exo+ front and DD rear, so it’ll gain another pound with proper DH tires in summer. Full 200mm boxxer- didn’t feel terribly mid-matched to the rear(165mm), also interesting the 200 boxxer is only 5-10mm taller than a 180 zeb. Overall pretty happy- will be perfect at the bike park and can still pedal occasionally.

12/5/2024 1:35pm They tried to justify that: "because 170mm bikes are made for shuttling and lift-assisted rides". DUDE

12/4/2024 7:20pm I haven't listened to the episode but Sam Blenkinsop is on the stay on your bike podcast saying he's stopping riding world cups but still racing other events which I would assume to be hardline and crankworx . I reckon there will be a fair few riders making similar plans for next year . It will be interesting to see how much support from the industry riders with a high profile but whose world cup days are behind them get .

11/28/2024 5:22pm Didn’t the Shimano guy on the pinkbike podcast say that one of their goals is to always have a well working mechanical XT drivetrain? All this wireless only and 13 speed does not really sound typical for them

11/28/2024 7:37am For similar money you could go to any number of boutique steel bike mfg's and get a custom sized steel bike, that would be infinitely cooler than any Trek would ever be. Support those little guys out there making rad stuff

11/28/2024 7:35am Talking to a inside guy at my shop about the new Shimano Groups. Their will be Deore / SLX / XT / XTR Wireless Sets at the beginning of 2025. They are not like the Road Groups with a wire to Accu System. Cassettes will be 9-45 and 10-51. he said their will be NO new Saint Group! The Brake we all saw and thought it must be the new saints, will be the new XTR 4-Piston Brake.

11/27/2024 7:57am The difference between the 2 is that Red Bull's events are private events, organised, produced & broadcast by them. They can invite whoever they want, no one can argue otherwise. WBD are organising World Cups on behalf of the UCI, the world governing body for competitive cycling events. They should be completely neutral & the only way to be free from bias/influence is to go off points for all teams. Personal opinion... I don't agree with handing control of the highest level of a sport to a TV production company to shape it how they want. I think I might've...

11/26/2024 8:17pm I've been an advocate for steep jumps instead of long and lows for a while due to beginner behavior and injury chances. Build a flow trail with decent size jumps towards the end at moderate speed and they will feel confident enough to do them, as the lips are shallow and you just ride off them at trail speed, but the speeds are high enough a crash causes serious injuries. Build a jump trail with steep lips, speed is "lost" due to traveling up more (I know its not exactly like this) and crash speeds will be lower, but most...
