Super nice build! Any issues getting the 1up v2 50mm bars into the Intend stem? Are they all scraped up?

DBone95 Added a reply to THICK grips

I recently switched from Deity Megattacks to Ergon GXR (large) and am surprisingly happy. The ergonomic shape of the Ergons made me realize how much I don't really like a round grip, no matter the diameter and they also feel much larger than the 34mm spec would lead you to believe. ^ With that being said, the Ergons also made...

I run megattacks on my trail bike and park bike with an XL glove size. I like them because they are very soft, longer than average grips, and seem to wear pretty well. I rotate them from the park bike onto the trail bike once the diamond texture fades. Feel great without gloves as well.

I'm totally sold on chain wax for off-road riding in dry conditions, but hard to imagine this is worth it when all the other Muc-off lube products are so terrible.

Just wanted to add a few things and opinions here. I'm a huge Mille fan and a huge fan of all the gals conquering Hardline over the years, so take it as you will. We all have different perspectives. Sure, Mille has had her fair share of crashes, but so have so many others trying to find the speed to be at the top. I've always viewed her as one of the most comfortable on the big jumps and things. I've been rooting for her to get an invite for a few years, honestly. Anyway, in some of the videos...

I think a lot of people feel that way. Some noises like headset creaks drive me bonkers, but for whatever reason (loud hubs maybe?) I can tolerate some chirping from the brakes. Anecdotally, I think the Hope discs are the culprit, and I've found in a couple instances that their brakes get a lot quieter with different rotors. I need more data though and will update this when I've tried a few more options. Cheers!

For me, rotor rub and/or noise is simply a deal breaker and I've seen too many reports of both from hope brakes. I'm sure they feel awesome, but for me they're a no go.

To be fair, Intense seemed it was going to pull out of the WC racing circuit after Gwin to focus on US racing, and it seems Breeden created the opportunity to continue. Given the pull out of the European market, it seems this is the right approach and strategy for them. I hope they make it through and with nice releases like the new Spider and coming updated Tazer, perhaps they will make it back to the WC circuit in the future.

Intense Cycles and AXESS Racing Team are parting ways going into 2026. AXESS Racing hasn’t (officially) announced what bikes they’ll be riding next year (and who will ride them), while Intense will focus more on U.S. domestic racing. Press release from Intense below, as well as a video from AXESS: INTENSE Wishes AXES Racing Team Continued Success At Intense Cycles, we're excited to extend our warmest wishes and heartfelt goodbye to Joe Breeden and the entire AXESS Racing Team as they embark on new adventures for 2026 and beyond. Our journey together has been truly special, with Joe joining the...

I still run X01 (aside from cranks and rings) on all my bikes. I've run these little guys in all my derailleurs for some time. Reasonably price and definitely better than the plastic POS if you keep a bike for a long time. Recommend buying black ones, putting the writing towards the bike, doing a modified hall lock, and being friends with the people who notice.

DBone95 Added a comment about feature Vital MTB Face Off: The Best Flat Pedals

11/1/2025 7:44am
That is a fair question! All of the Tenets and Race Face pedals suffered nasty side-to-side slop that I could actually feel in my feet (Chameleon hardtail at the time). I would service them with some thick Bel-Ray water proof grease which would make them better right away, but it was always short lived. The Tenets were the worst. The Hopes and Spanks were bullet proof but way too small and hurt my feet after 2ish hours on the trail. The Flat Tracks just didn't have the grip of some of the others and lasted 2 rides before selling. The...

I think it's a terrible idea to discontinue juniors, especially for the non-europeans riders. The tracks are so different in the US from the European tracks that going over as a junior is one of the only ways to learn. Its seems the US riders get less interest than the European and very few end up on factory teams as it is. I dont the the feeder series will be much help, as awesome as the Monster Pro DH and the National series races are, in giving the juniors enough exposure to be put on a factory team and then...
