I've heard about that. It's Enduro that's willing to give up its right to vote in order to disappear and be protected from the horrors happening to other racing genres. Right?

Did some estimations of yoke length based on difference in BB height between the regular and evo Levos since I don't have the evo yoke in hand. The yoke length is almost certainly off by a mm or two, but that doesn't change leverage curve much.

I generally want to know if brands have any plans to improve long-term support on their products - especially anything electronic and electric motors. Are any of them planning on building a platform with a motor that can be repaired or upgraded/replaced over time? And are they going to be locked to an app that can disappear in a few years, or do they have EOL plans that let you keep using them as long as you want once its been discontinued? Avinox seems to be doing the drop-in upgrade part of that, but long term mechanical and app support...

If only someone made a linkage that allowed a longer shock to to be run on the Levo and it yielded 170 mm of travel. That would be wild.

Anyone who has owned automotive Brembos or even ye olde Grimeca System brakes will know how often they need a repaint due to fading from red to pink and chipping of the paint.. Hard anodizing on the other brands is a major plus (For me anyway) It would have been great if they offered the Brembo motorcycle Stylema anodised finishes.

Totally agree. Over 50lbs is too much. I don’t care how fast you can easily cruise up a fire road. I just wish there were more mid power options that have more DH geo and suspension. . Just my taste tho I’m almost forced to buy a DJI bike and use a small battery on eco mode. Rather not use a DJI motor.

It looks like State Bicycle of all places might have an option for the EC, and Niner has an ZS one as well (I think Pivot was using a similar option previously on bikes for the same reasons, but no idea if they are still available). I haven't used either, just found them via the Google. I was bummed that Wolftooth stopped making them, as I'm using one currently on a Rocky Mountain Element to tweak the geo, and its worked perfectly for me.

Not at the headset cup I put an MRP extended crown race on a rigid fork for +10mm ATC and it works perfectly. Although this is a rigid bikepacking type setup on my hardtail. This is better than an extended headset cup for my particular use case since I can switch back and forth with a suspension fork where I don't want the increased height. link Pinner Machine Shop makes what you're looking for though: https://pinnermachineshop.com/en-us/products/hedraiser

It's wild that my 2018 Lyrik RC2 has been on 6 different bikes and every travel config between 150-180. Still going strong 8 years later with no creaks in the CSU. Best fork of all time. (yes it's red)

Nice to see the Lyrik doing 170 again! I still have an older model with air shafts from 130 to 180, it never says no to a party

That’s some good mathing Robot! I was there a total of 13 years across two separate stints of 5 and 8 years. It’s a long fucking time to do anything! My wife landed her dream job which required a relocation to Nashville. I’m enjoying some time as a stay at home dog dad and slowly figuring out what’s next!

Aletha will be hard to beat now that Windrock is her home mountain. But I wouldn't count out Frida Ronning, Kailey Skelton, and Anna Newkirk. Of those three Kailey can be on another level of speed if conditions get dry and slick, same with Frida if it's wet and technical. Anna might not be motivated to go all out for a non-World Cup race but all things equal I think she is still faster than Aletha at this stage of their careers. On the mens side, some may say this year's field isn't as strong as previous years, but I...

Re: IMBA (and other trail associations) besides them building almost exclusively flow trails, I find the biggest drawback is the mob mentality of people that take part. -Come in and gaslight local government into letting them be the judge jury and executioner regarding how the entire trail system will be built and managed moving forward. -Build exclusively flow. (Requires excavators) -Gaslight local government into requiring parking permits to support excavator trails people didn’t ask for. Parking used to free. -Extended and unnecessary trail closures whenever it even slightly rains. “It’ll ruin the flow berms bro, be a good trail steward...

I will put it plainly. Big people on little wheels -> frames can accommodate their size => no practical advantage Little people on big wheels -> frames cannot accommodate their size => practical disadvantage There is a fundamental physical advantage for bigger wheels relative to smaller ones in mildly bumpy terrain (XC like). Smaller riders cannot practically access this advantage. There is no disadvantage to small wheels if everyone is on the same wheel size. This is the issue. UCI has regulated road bikes (and others) for decades, sometimes just to keep the classic bicycle aesthetic. It’s funny that they...
