I think you're spot on with there being a more latent market for regular bikes than is apparent. Improvements to regular bikes have largely stagnated. There's not a lot of reason for most people to sell their 2022 bike and buy a new one. Unsurprisingly, sales of regular bikes are underwhelming. That doesn't mean the population of riders who wants those bikes is collapsing though; it just means they already own what they want. Ebikes are the hot new thing. Everyone's buying one. Some people enjoy them, some people buy them, try them, and decide it's not for them. But...

The enduro from ‘07 on was always pretty good on climbs. Granted, weights went up with travel and slackened geos… and I haven’t ridden the most recent one. But if the argument for not buying one is due to your legs and lungs sucking, that’s not entirely the bike’s fault. From my wizarding, I’ve deduced there used to be a lot more “climb adverse” people out there who were more on the husky side of life and pushed uphill while complaining the whole time. Many in this Enduro-bro group were buying 170mm enduro bikes to more or less suffer going...

There are still plenty of purists who just don't want to ride an ebike, but still want an enduro bike. BUT, most 2020 enduro bikes ride just as good as a new one, AND, like mentioned before, a modular park/enduro bike makes more sense. RIP enduro.

Whether it's my imaginary customer or your imaginary customer I think the key takeaway is that so far, neither imaginary customer really exists. I'm sure you're aware that a lot of the add-on sales you're describing that happen in a dealership are predicated on; "You're financing this SxS at $XXX a week already, if you add the fancy suspension your weekly payment only goes up by $18." When a couple of e-bikes to hang off the SxS run at $25000CAD that really blows that math out the window.

Well that’s gonna end well. UCI- we’ve given rider x a 6.7 sec penalty Rider- no way was that 6.7sec, it was only 0.5 Another rider who gets bumped up- more like 15 My point being how do you allocate a time to each individual case. Maybe if you make the final you’re guaranteed 30th or 15th spot points, and if you or more than one get the current DQ then they just finish joint 30/15. Or, you know, just stay in the poles

I’ve been pretty curious about this bike. I have a real dislike of drop bars, ergonomically at least, but really like gravel/adventure rides where you do some of everything. Bikes are better and more capable than ever, to the point i find they make riding boring at times. Incredible to look at my $8000 trail bike and decide my beater fixed gear will be more fun. Spending too much time driving to trails, just riding trails, takes the fun out of bike riding for me. Having bikes that encourage just riding out the door and going over everything helps hit...

Hey all, just heard back from Rockshox tech support and here's what they had to say. Interestingly, they approved reusing cursh washers between 200-hour services: "The 200-hour service kit includes crush washers, which only need to be replaced during the 200-hour service. They can be reused during 50-hour services. The crush washers for each side of the fork are unique. Specialized definitely needs a response to Avinox ASAP. I'll tell you something funny about the Levo. Levo's were probably like 60-70% of the Korean E-bike market. On rides, I'd see groups of 5-10 E's where only 1 or 2 weren't a Levo. The Gen 4 battery voltage exceeds the e-bike category and is classified for E-motos. Specialized Korea has been trying to get an exemption or the law changed for years. Tanked their MTB business that was probably 80-90% e-bikes. On the plus side, their desperation finally pushed Special-K to import the Status and they're considering the Stumpjumper again🤣

Had an interesting chat yesterday, during a group ride with a product manager from Conti. Apparently management of the bicycle division at Conti is not yet convinced that 32"-wheels will become a mainstream wheelsize, let alone are even here to stay. The guy told me that he personally believes this to be a repetition of the 650B-Plus situation. Conti anticipates very little consumer demand for various reasons, not least of which being a sort-of innovation-fatigue within cyclists. I finally finished my 32er! The fork has some spacers I made preventing tire/crown bottom out. I think it's around 100mm of travel now. I designed it around a 535mm a2c. Overall I'm enjoying it, it's got a lot of cornering traction and feels very peaceful to ride, not frenetic in the slightest. It's VERY efficient and holds speed with traction for days. Timing pumps is different, it's less direct. Similar to how a 29er pumps differently than a 26er, but another step less direct than that. 9/14/2026 1:37am Iv got an s170. I imagine they ride pretty similar. They want to be ridden firm and forceful. Not a bike that just wants to coast along. On your good days it’s the most fun. On my slow winter days I ride my slower bike. It really is a wild animal . Very sick tho
