nothing? they are the only ones making their own controls and the only ones integrating an electric dropper that is powered by the ebike's battery. one could say they are the first company offering their own ebike UI. everyone else is on stock controllers

Santa Cruz, Transition, Pivot, and Canyon among others all run Fazua motors. Are these bikes going to turn into expensive bricks when spares run out, or will we see the IP sold to someone else? Hard to imagine its as valuable as it was even a few months ago. Should things turn for the worse for riders running Fazua systems, I'd imagine a brand like Santa Cruz, who prides itself on customer service, is going to have to offer pretty attractive "crash replacement" deals to get riders onto their other platforms. Re: "Will we see any of the mega brands move to Avinox mid-term?" I agree that these price cuts are a direct consequence of Avinox eating everybody's lunch. But I don't think we'll see big brands starting to use Avinox, for compliance reasons. The one thing that draws consumers towards Avinox (- high power output) is basically also the reason why the big brands don't use them. Why the dissapointment? Without knowing exactly what the bike is, other than hearing info and seeing pics. The ethos/idea of the bike is probably the same? A small travel, super fun and efficient bike - Probably more efficient with this new suspension setup, as well as lighter - But probably also more capable than the previous version. I am stoked to see it, and thinking it could probably be the perfect bike to do it all for me.

I did some napkin math to see what things look like. Assumptions are: The linkage allows the rear axle to move roughly in the same plane as the seat tube 170mm travel in that plane Effective seat tube = 77.5 degrees, so assume actual seat tube = 75 degrees You end up with, sin (15 degrees)*170mm, which results in 4.4cm rearward movement. So if my shitty math gets to 4.4cm, I find it reasonable that the frame has 3cm rearward movement

To add to the other answers, the change relative to previous cassettes is that the sprockets were shifted outboard so that (I believe) the smallest one sits off the driver. This is also the reason for the loss of cross-compatibility (without modification, anyway) with original Eagle.

It's a Transmission only cassette - will only work with a full mount derailleur, not a hanger.

my 2 cents after spending some time on the bike is that I really want to spend more time on the bike. I feel that you made the correct decision, but for a moment there it was harder to sell a Bosch equipped bike. It seems like that moment has mostly passed as reality about range, reliability, serviceability, center of gravity with an 800wh battery, legal compliance & noise came more to the forefront very recently.

Ha, you already know we looked at everything! Avinox is doing some wild stuff and honestly respect what they have pulled off here. But for the Tazer, it wasn't the right fit. Power to range is a real tradeoff with that system, and beyond that, big torque and wattage numbers don't always automatically equal a great ride. I wish MTB media would refuse to review any non-Class 1 e-bike. That would rule out the current Levo and anything with an Avinox. Of course, the Utube Bros would then get all of the clicks as they would review all day in exchange for free use of Class 3 bikes. Avinox offers a UCC compliant motor now, and it's labeled and locked down. That should be the only DJI motor installed in an e-bike, imo.

I would love a meat-bike version with these exact specs. Also, the new design language that's been carried over from the Spider continues to be beautiful. If you imagine that thing without a motor or battery and an appropriately-sized downtube and BB as a result, that's a lovely looking bike.

The 8-hour training actually makes perfect sense if you think about it. If you’re going to force a 12-year-old to commute electrically assisted/throttled in a 6-inch painted gutter next to 5,000lb distracted SUVs going 50mph, they probably need Stroad-warrior level tactical training. Why build a protected bike path for $1M when you can just blame the kids for not having a Ebike Safety Certificate while they dodge F-150s?

I got a raaw shipped this month. I think it was $280 and then fedex wanted $400 for tariffs. I haven't paid the tariff yet... Not sure how to approach it with how everything is going.
