2/20/2026 1:01pm Good ideas thanks. That Devinci checks a lot of boxes, not a company I think about much but it looks great.

2/19/2026 12:46pm I do like a metal bike. I’m not sure what duties/tariffs look like for euro bikes right now but might be worth looking into.

2/19/2026 10:10am Thanks folks, big bike is obviously relative. My other rig is a 150mm fork hardtail that I use as my “XC” bike for mellow trails, and winter slop. I think I need to get out and demo the Santa Cruz/S/Ibis options. Anything weirder and interesting I should be looking at though?

2/19/2026 7:48am In the spirit of the trail bike thread, I’m pondering my next bike and think I want to bump up to light enduro or whatever. Right now I am on a previous gen Knolly Fugitive and after adding an angle set and bumping fork travel to 160 it’s pretty good, but not perfect. I want something that’s comfy on hard...

2/18/2026 3:30pm The Spur is a pretty sweet bike and you'd fit in with everyone else in Bellingham with a TR on your headtube. If an alloy frame is desired a Norco Fluid is a pretty awesome mid travel trail bike and would be very appropriate to slap a 140mm 36 on the front of it. Its probably closer to the jack of trades category with a bias to the gravity side of things (similar to the Tallboy). There are some alloy builds for less than the sale price on a carbon Spur frame set. Its more work to strip a frame...

2/18/2026 3:30pm I can vouch for the overbuilt tallboy. Amazing set up. highly recommended. Can dig further into detail on it if desired but would highly recommend one

2/17/2026 10:52am I’d like to see more entry methods. Crank Bros are the only pedals where you can just slide your foot forward across the pedal and it will catch. They’ll also re-engage if you just stand on the pedal as you ride. I think that’s the reason they’re so popular with the gravity crowd despite their issues. Personally I find the “toe down” SPD entry method to be distracting in technical terrain. I’d like something that keeps the ease of entry that Crank Bros pedals have without the durability issues or vague centering. With the amount of horizontal space that gravity...

2/17/2026 10:52am Does CB have a patent that prohibits brands from using their system? Not that I don't like their pedals, but I'm curious why we don't see any 3rd party options for cleats or pedals. Would love a steel cleat that lasts more than a month.

2/17/2026 10:52am They say “proprietary binding” but when you go to their website it says “fully SPD compatible” So what’s unique about them then? I wish more companies weren’t afraid of deviating from SPD cleats, I feel like they really limit innovation.

2/11/2026 3:53pm NO shot they sold more V10s. They may have sold them quicker, but that is because quantity is lower. Even as some DH market grows, it is still very small compared to all the other full squish bikes. Sucks to see spec dropping the alloy demo. Such a good bike and value. See tons of them everywhere. But i guess they are trying to go after high market only. Really wish they would have made a fuckin s5 for that alloy demo. Jerks.

2/11/2026 3:50pm I find it really hard to believe they sold more v10s than nomads and Hightowers. But I’d agree with the sentiment that more people are in the dh market than say pre pandemic and a lot of people who’d be buying a new nomad are springing for a bullit instead. Would be awesome to get some product managers in here with some sales percentages across their models.

2/11/2026 3:49pm Everyone keeps talking about how long travel non-assisted bikes just aren’t selling. People are buying e-bikes in that category. I wouldn’t be surprised if they aren’t in a rush to fill that enduro spot. I saw something the other day, that said last year the blur and v10 were Santa Cruz’s best selling bikes without motors. The mid to long travel segments are really going to e-bikes these days. Wouldn’t be surprised if specialized isn’t the only one going oops we forgot about our enduro bike for a few years.

2/11/2026 3:48pm Feels like a "dump the whole line" mood from the big S on this one. Which would leave a shockingly thin lineup of full suspension pedal bikes- Epic, Chisel, Stumpy, Status... that's it.

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic Who’s Slowing down their Rebound when it gets wet and slippery?
2/9/2026 3:18pm I like the graph you shared and agree with what it's saying, but one thing to note about the graph is that it's only addressing changes in rebound speed. All other factors are held constant, i.e. rider weight, spring rate, compression damping, trail conditions, outside air temp, trail speed, riding style, etc. So, if you assume all of those other variables are constant, then this graph will help you understand how to view rebound setup. But as we respond to your original post, the hypothetical you're asking about specifically refers to changing trail conditions and trail speed, which means this...

TEAMROBOT Liked a reply to forum topic Who’s Slowing down their Rebound when it gets wet and slippery?
2/9/2026 3:16pm Great question! I think there's a simple suspension principle that applies here, that as rider speeds and trail speeds go up, rebound should get faster. As speeds go down, rebound should slow down as well. And I think that decision to speed up or slow rebound comes down to two things: packing and pushing. 1. Packing: as you noted, as trails dry out, speeds tend to go up. As a result, the rate of bumps hitting your wheels increases, as your suspension is hitting the same number of bumps in less time, and your fork is more likely to pack...

2/9/2026 2:32pm I find it to be very location dependent. It's difficult to get G-Wagon drivers here to agree to a $140 work order on a two decade old bike. When I lived in Kelowna, you could convince a homeless person to drop $600 if it was going to keep their pride and joy running. We regularly need to peer pressure customers with 10k bikes into getting their suspension done three years on. I think Shimano is putting far too much onus on shops and individuals. We lack mechanics as the pay is shit and the customers can be difficult. We lack...

2/9/2026 1:47pm I understand that as a business, bike shops make money primarily on labor, so they need to be able to sell service and maintenance to people. And I want to support local shops, but the problem in lies that doing your own work is part of the experience of mountain biking, and it saves money. Some of my friends' favorite memories are the times our buddy did a full dropper rebuild in the rain in a parking lot, or just drinking beers in the basement putting a new drivetrain on. I have literally done every bit of work on my...
