I think the problem with a bike park is that you need to open/start with enough fun trails for every ability to keep customers coming back from the get go. If a park is established, it has to be way more cost-effective than winter operations. You have no grooming costs, no snowmaking, significantly less operational lifts, limited lessons/coaching compared to winter, less patrollers, no snow safety costs (avalanche mitigation), etc, etc. The problem is that most American resorts/hills only dip their toes in. Do you think lifetime warranty killed that company? My assumption would be no, unless they were just monumentally stupid and didn't do sufficient forecasting to properly bake the cost of running the program into the cost of the rim. Personally, there's two way more obvious things to point at: 1. general bike market conditions 2. the difficulty of running an American manufacturing company in the current tariff/regulatory bizzarro world going on down there. Lifetime warranties are a horrible idea even if people like me loooooove them. I ride stuff for a long time, and anything (not just rims) that's not a total boat anchor will eventually break. I've literally never had a rear rim that I didn't eventually ruin, and I'm fine with that. I don't want an insanely expensive 700g carbon rim that will actually last a lifetime and not tank the company with warranty claims. Can someone explain how the business model for carbon wheels ever worked? I buy a wheelset for $1.5k and it has a lifetime warranty. Whilst the pivot might have a few more broken frames than others, there's no way that impact would cause that on an in tact frame. Either it was previously damaged or defective. No way it would a survive a sin le run at a world cup or hardline if it was that weak!

Gravel bikes and endurance road bikes are what I used to recommend to a lot of people. Although, now both of those fall into what some are calling the "all-road" bike as gravel bikes are becoming more like early 29er hardtails.. I don't disagree, however have found that if I want to be comfortable on my HT, I need to be much more active on the bike (more intentional with line choice, unweighting/raising the front/rear wheels over stuff, etc). There is a podcast on Escape Collective with the designers, they discussed it. The integrated shock doesn't work on a road type frame with a high top tube and big angle between the seat stays and top tube, the TT and shock need to be relatively parallel to the seat stays. So the integrated shock design works on a low standover MTB, not on a gravel frame.
