Not just bikes, I think they will probably fare well with alternate micromobility offerings like this. These are frequently being used in cities as delivery vehicles — often clogging bike lanes. Also (no pun intended), I work in Berkeley, and the Venn diagram overlap of monied parents on e-cargo/transit bikes and also owning electric cars picking up their kids from the private schools is very, very high. (This should probably go into a different thread, sorry)

My guess is that NOBL isn't footing the billl. Evil is getting the rims (maybe at a discount) to replace the loopholes as needed. NOBL gets good press at helping to support the wheels, Evil has a partner to help support, and long term NOBL I am guessing becomes an OE partner for EVIL as well. Really doubt that NOBL is warrantying rims without being reimbursed in some way.

I thought it was very brave of Ebruner to be vulnerable and share how many bikes he and his wife have. It can be tough to come clean. We’re all active or recovering bikes addicts here, and this is supposed to be a supportive community for recovery. Or enabling rationalizations and fostering codependency, if that’s what you’re looking for. Both, really. JUDGEMENT FREE SPACE

Oh come on What are you doing swapping wheels every other day? I call bullshit to all this superboost hate I agree 148 for everyone would be the best thing But if you’ve got a superboost bike with a nice set of wheels I really don’t see the point in wanting to swap stuff around constantly Get legos to do that Almost 5 years into owning a superboost bike and I’ve never had once an issue with it Once I sent a wheel for warranty and just borrowed a DH one for the weekend, 0 issues there too

I've never heard of a shop renting wheels. Hell, I asked 7+ shops in Morzine to rent me just a helmet without a bike and all but one wouldn't even do that! (wanted one with ASTM F1952) I don't build wheels, and have no desire to as that's the main way I support my LBS. I've 100% freed myself from not being able to ride a certain bike in my quiver due to nuking a wheel. All 148 bikes with Hope front hubs that can be converted between 15mm and 20mm. Very interested to see what rear spacing the new...

On trips you can borrow dh wheels from someone or rent a dh wheel from a shop, not the end of the world, although back to 148 would be nice given that transmission offers a similar chain line they wanted to achieve tanks to superboost ( as per one of the last q&a s on instagram )

It sure would be interesting to know which catalogue wheel this is, because the way the sticker radius doesn't match the rim screams "we bought these at 200$ and are selling them at 800$" I know this thread isn't supposed to be about opinions but come on at least match the radii

Yeah I think it is a selling point that nobody ever really uses. I don't think more than a handfull of people across the world will be converting their rallon from enduro rig to a DH rig for a park weekend on an even semi-regular basis. Are people really going to get the different links, shock, fork, and maybe wheels/tires just for a couple of park weekends a year? And if you're actually going to a park more often I'd say its easier to just own a decent DH bike. IDK man. I'd say it's a way bigger win for...

Anyone else has some more leaks/pics or is it not kosher to ask and post about it? Did some hero save that (now set to private) review of the Offering video?

Anyone know the release date for new Evil bikes? Also made a comparison photos against the old model. Seat tube insertion looks a lot better on the updated model.

I've been wondering what the next big thing is going to be for the industry to try and hype us up on... Will dual purpose Enduro/ DH bikes be it? Go from Enduro pedal friendly bike to DH plow machine by simply switching out most of the major components on your bike..

If there's one thing I know about readers and viewers today, it's that they are CRAVING more AI-generated content. Not getting enough of it yet. Can't get enough. Foaming at the mouth for more AI-generated content, in fact. Gobbling it up.

When i was “industry” i used to sell my bikes every year and get the newwest shit and I felt like it was important because I was racing in the bikes were getting better every year. Now obviously this has changed and our bikes are pretty much the same every year and I only need to sell them used when I’m ready for a whole new complete or I find some smoking deal because I’m not “industry” anymore. Back in the day yada yada yada dad problems…. but I have watched the E bike thing from the very beginning as...

This is a very valid question that I think most ebike owners dont really think much about pre-purchase. Some because they are newish to the sport and dont realize it and others probably don't really care (if you can afford an 8-14K emtb, you're probably not hurting too bad for cash). I plunked down coin for an Orbea rise hydro and a bunch of upgrades to slightly change geo and cater it more to my descending focused riding preference. After a largely disappointing experience with the EP8 motor, Orbea CS and the bike itself; I pulled the ripcord and sold...

I sporadically think about buying an e bike, then as I delve a bit deeper I start reading all the stories about motor replacements and other issues. The amount of used e bikes where the seller says it's got a brand new motor or motor and battery are really off putting, the failure rate is unacceptably high IMO. Manufacturers only offering a two year warranty on motors and batteries is also scary to me. No way I'm spending £5k+ on something that's potentially worth jack shit in 3 years.
