Not sure if these guys have come up yet, but I just got to pop around on one. The DJI motor certainly blew my hair back a bit more than I expected, but the bike itself felt extremely dialed.

You sure that's not a Sight VLT?

It is pretty similar, both are I-Track.

It sure would be interesting to know which catalogue wheel this is, because the way the sticker radius doesn't match the rim screams "we bought these at 200$ and are selling them at 800$"

I know this thread isn't supposed to be about opinions but come on at least match the radii

Maybe the shed they're referring to is the bong shed?

Also odd that they don't show what the internal rim width is or even a basic cross section of the rim? They look wide, but what's the internal width which will affect your tires shape when inflated.
How wide is the shoulder the bead sits on? is it wide or something narrow that will burp easily?
They also look kinda shallow, I've never had much luck with shallow rims lasting, in my riding experience the shallow rims are the ones I kill the most easily.
Can't say they are filling me with trust/confidence without basic info like that.

I realize that's a bit obsessive, but as a wheel builder this matters.

The crown on that KYB strikes me as excessively sculpted. Might just be the angles, but it looks reeaal light.

Revel shared a sneak peak that matches that bike pretty well. Is that the new Revel?

Where are the new Evil models posted? Any idea if they’re abandoning the superboost rear hub spacing?

Fingers crossed they go back to 148.  Some of my favorite bikes were Evil, but I switched to other brands when they went to Superboost.  As someone with multiple bikes, and having been on riding trips where people had to borrow rear wheels, Superboost is a dealbreaker for me.  My current trail bike is a 2022 model, and I haven't been interested in any new bikes.  If Evil goes back to 148, I would probably order one at release.

On trips you can borrow dh wheels from someone or rent a dh wheel from a shop, not the end of the world, although back to 148 would be nice given that transmission offers a similar chain line they wanted to achieve tanks to superboost ( as per one of the last q&a s on instagram )

I don't even like playing the "Who has a 148 rear wheel I can borrow [with my preferred freehub interface and/or a cassette of similar size and # of speeds that's compatible with my chain]?" game.

I don't think I would like the 157mm SuperBoost version of that game.

I have fought off having superboost rear wheels in my fleet for many years.  My wife fell in love with a pivot recently and got herself one.  It has ruined the zen status of all wheels/hubs fitting all bikes in my garage.  It is as bad, if not worse then the dystopian axle future I imagined that had me avoiding pivot bikes for nearly a decade now.

superboost sucks... after having a superboost bike forced on me, I can safely say, I will never own a superboost bike.

But WE NEED MORE CHOICES BECAUSE STANDARDS MUST NOT BE STANDARD

I was on a 10 day riding trip in Iceland 2 years ago and this exact issue happened to a guy in our group.  He had flown from Australia with his bike, and when we were at the headquarters of the guide company assembling our bikes(in the middle of nowhere) he realized there was an issue with his rear hub.  A few of us tried to fix it in their shop but he was missing a piece in the hub.  Fortunately, his bike was 148 and the guide company had a few rental bikes, also 148, and they were nice enough to loan him one for the 10 day trip.  If he had Superboost, I highly doubt we would have found him a wheel, and he would have had to ride a clapped out rental bike for the trip after flying around the world with his own personal bike.

Well that math doesn't instill much confidence.  37mm must round up to 40mm...

They didn't dimension the other lip... it could be 6.5 mm wide. But not making dumb machine shop assumptions, it's approximately 36.5 mm wide on account of that 3.5 mm dimension actually being at a slight angle. I took the profile and traced it on my computer really quick. Going off the 30 mm dimension being correct, all the other dimensions are quite close to their callout. That's some next level rounding or just straight up making it up.

I've never heard of a shop renting wheels. Hell, I asked 7+ shops in Morzine to rent me just a helmet without a bike and all but one wouldn't even do that! (wanted one with ASTM F1952)

I don't build wheels, and have no desire to as that's the main way I support my LBS. I've 100% freed myself from not being able to ride a certain bike in my quiver due to nuking a wheel. All 148 bikes with Hope front hubs that can be converted between 15mm and 20mm.

Very interested to see what rear spacing the new Demo is using...

Didn't Spesh have some nonsense about keeping the Demo rear end at 135mm so it could "more easily fit between rocks" back when Boost was first happening?
