3/30/2026 2:00pm What is the thinking for choosing the 10 deg setting in your EMTB? Wouldn't you want to run the larger 20 deg setting since the motor activating quickly takes up the freeplay so engagement speed is much less of a concern than on the MTB?

1/9/2026 2:26pm Ive also got a set on a new bike that have been a nightmare and Ive not yet been able to figure it out. They start out working well but after the first notable descent, the contact point slowly starts migrating to the bar. Already done 2 rounds of full bleeds and "piston massaging" and still have the same issue...

12/11/2025 9:43am It all comes down to policy. Removing the gold standard isn’t an issue in itself. An independent fed is a good thing. Simply there has been a total failure in leadership since the 90s on both sides of the aisle. When Clinton left office we were on a path to completely eliminate our national debt by the late 2000s. Since then we have continually increased our costs (some good, some bad) while cutting taxes across the board. But the shift (or realistically return) of the government supporting business over normal folk started much earlier. When Eisenhower was president taxes on...

12/10/2025 9:27am This aligns precisely with what I’m seeing. Everyone is trying to hit the mark of producing just enough they don't prematurely sell out, but at the same time there is no lagging inventory on the balance sheet. Forecasting demand is the one area where every single upstream brand struggles, yet it is often the biggest driver of the entire budget. When brands ask customers for forecasts, they have historically dealt with misaligned incentives. Retailers could place massive pre-orders and then bail with no consequences ('no skin off their back'), leaving the upstream brand holding the bag. As the industry tries...

12/5/2025 9:53am My grandfather was a bus driver and local side hustle handy man. His wife was the cafeteria lady at the local high school. Retired comfortably at 60 with vacation money. Owned a home kn their late 20s. Everyone of their 4 kids own a home. Was a city councilman for several years. My brother in law is a doctor. But 500k in student loans at 7ish percent means it will be a looooong time before he and my sister’s life actually feels upper class. Add to that the some 30 grand out of pocket they spent on ivf. Do student...

The top 10% of earners in the U.S. accounted for nearly 50% of spending in the second quarter, the highest level it’s been since this data first started being collected in 1989 , according to Moody’s Analytics."

11/25/2025 4:45pm If your definition of making money in a cushy fashion is 4 days work for minus £40 and comments like this, then I must be that hanger on using mountain bikers for my benefit. Just to be clear, this was my decision to do this interview and I'm not unhappy about doing that at my cost. YT just covered the bulk of the travel to enable us to do it in-person, which I think provides not only a better quality audio and video experience for you all, but also makes the conversation flow better. This doesn't in any way change...

11/14/2025 1:12pm Having also worked as a shop mechanic, on bikes new and old (sometimes very, very old), my experience was that old parts can sometimes be repaired and can sometimes be replaced with a new (but possibly non-matching or lower-quality) replacement. And sometimes neither of those is possible. Managing customer expectations and communicating clearly is extremely important when it comes to that sort of thing. I have a great appreciation for the companies out there producing affordable replacement parts that can keep old bikes functional and out of the landfill. Even if those bikes are no longer "trail-worthy," many of them...

11/3/2025 3:32pm Wherever the relationship is now (seems healthy enough) its undeniable it wasnt at least a little bit dodgy. Adult team manager getting romantically involved with team member he signed when she was underage. I think it being called out somewhat isn't necessarily a bad thing so that sort of shit doesn't become normalised.

11/3/2025 10:26am Is anyone surprised by this? From what I can tell the parent company isn't emerging out of bankruptcy protections and the creditors are liquidating assets (including goat heads). Maybe the hope is the creditors are able to liquidate enough to make them whole, and the equity holders are given back the company? This doesn't seem likely. This is why Markus needed investors, to effectively buy the company out of bankruptcy. TL;DR - The parent is done, hence every regional distributorship is also done. Am I missing something?

10/23/2025 9:18am No hate but I think this is a bit of an ignorant point of view. It is an extreme event we are debating so strong opinions on both sides are set to come out. I don't think a single one of those riders even considers fame or money when building their line. Their drivers are likely the rush of a complete run, the satisfaction of their line working, the high of adrenaline, their desire to push the sport and themselves and the goal of winning. There is not a single one who has an urge to mutilate themselves. Every rider...

10/20/2025 3:03pm As someone who has followed and watched this since it's inception, watching live this year was too much. I turned it off after Adolf and hit the live button a while later to watch Emil almost plummet to the bottom. It hasn't sat well with me. I'm in my late 40s and have always been into action sports, including ski, snowboard, skating, etc. X Game in general. This one felt different. I think at this point, if there was another run of this type of thing next week, I'd wait for the replay or highlights. Add me into the too...

10/17/2025 12:28pm I’m sorry, but Daprela doesn’t ‘deserve’ anything. Racing at a World Cup level is a privilege not a right. It’s beyond just being fast, you also need to have certain aspects of professionalism and be enjoyable to be around. Regardless of what actually happened in the ‘incident’, his continued behavior in the aftermath is uncouth and any team should be hesitant for that alone.
