Have you tried Galfer green (race compound I think) pads? Ran those on MT7s for one park day and swapped them for the galfer ebike pads because they were too powerful.

I'm just a guy, but how can you tell there's a spool valve inside a shock from a drawing of the outside of said shock? All I could tell is it uses a coil spring and has knobs on it.

The issue is people think tine and time again that pedal kickback is the only thing this helps with (and it does help with that every time your rear wheels is locked up or close to it, the actual speed doesn't matter then), but it also helps with chain slapping around, the free chain weight isn't that little considering how fast it oscillates in those slomo vids. It absolutely is heavy enough to transmit vibrations through the chainring to the cranks.

The o-chain thing is, in my opinion, the absolutely most confusing thing happening in mountain biking today. The math says it should provide zero benefit above speeds of like 6 or 8 mph (or whatever, pretty slow, depends on hub engagement but you know... pretty slow) YET, there are tens of elite level world cup racers using them, and I'm assuming thousands of people that most would consider to be regionally elite. I feel like there really needs to be a quantifiable deep dive into what it actually does. But I guess if it does or doesn't provide any benefit...

GODDAM this is annoying. The whole point is that thanks to the rear mech mounting to the axle a hanger is NO LONGER NEEDED. The frames still use a UDH mount and tolerances that have been in use for years now. How many UDH frames have you seen where the axle doesn't thread in due to mis alignment? how many frames have wheels off centre due to bad UDH tolerances? The square root of F'All. Most misalignment comes from poorly produced.....................hangers. If the mech is out of alignment with this system, there is a whole lot of F'wittery going on...

How can a derailleur thats aligned to the axle be out of alignment with the cassette? I feel like people are trying really hard to crap on this tech, but it seems pretty dang dialed.

I still don't get it how having the tensioner next to the tyre and so down low is a good idea. People constantly mention how low the derailleur cages are on modern drivetrains, but those are always protected by the rear wheel while the BB gets MUCH lower at bottom out. Add a rock in there and you have a slight case of hard touching.

Shimano just released a ton of budget/mass market products under the Cues 'groupset' so not exactly leaving the low end market to others. More like Shimano doubling down on their dominance of the low/mid end of the market.
