8/20/2025 6:36pm As a tall guy with long legs and an appetite for big dumb rides that often include shitty 4x4 roads, I’m actually really stoked to see where this whole 32” thing goes. I’d like 32” x 2.4” mezcals for my next lap on the white rim please.

8/20/2025 6:27pm Why this isn’t exploding in the gravel realm is beyond me. That’s where I see 32” wheels shining. We’ve got the shittiest, washboarded, rough dirt roads here in Colorado. My hardtail is much preferable for long dirt road meanders, I never use my gravel bike because the roads are so rough. Some 2” tires on 32” wheels sounds great for this application. Don’t see myself buying a new Mtb for the large wheels, and I was a 29 early adopter.

8/13/2025 5:34am At least around here. Most e bikers are long time mtbers. Most the new people I see are on budget analog Mtbs.

8/9/2025 11:03am Dissector v2 front, Forekaster rear seems like they’ll work well as a fast trail tire combo.

8/8/2025 9:32pm I agree, incentive is limited. I'm actually a sucker for rad paint jobs, and nobody is doing anything remotely cool these days on that front. Where the hell are the fades, splatters, metallics, neon colors, etc. No originality at all. Please drop some acid and get back to me.

8/8/2025 10:09am The new dissector looks pretty good! The side knobs are beefed up and the transition is filled in. The center knobs look highly ramped like Conti Xynotal. Will we finally have a well rounded fast rolling rear tire option from Maxxis? The new DHF v2 + Dissector v2 would be a pretty solid fast rolling setup. 8/1/2025 8:10am Marleens (NZ DT agent) even without Nic onboard now, have always been pretty onto it with marketing and product support. I have to say I'm surprised noideamtber hasn't killed that ARC30, worst rim I've every had... even weaker than the 1st gen Stans Barron rim.

7/31/2025 2:42pm I've been absolutely wailing on FR541s on my heavy ass ebike for a year now, including a few hits hard enough to flat DH tires, and the rims are still mint. I'm sure there are people out there destroying them, but it takes a lot to do it.

7/31/2025 2:36pm New Dt rim, supposedly stronger then the 541, built for heavier riders and intended only as a rear rim. Fr 571 https://www.mtbdirect.com.au/products/fr571-rim?srsltid=AfmBOorjSL9gi0L…

7/22/2025 8:04pm Hey everyone, not mad at anyone in this thread (besides maybe myself). I clearly have ideas and a delivery style that probably isn’t ideal for a mountain bike forum. Robot wrote a genuinely great post (he’s a better writer than me), and I realized there was no way for me to counter it. Not because I didn’t have anything to say, but because I started turning into this (actual photo Tucker took of me this morning): Any frustration you see from me is with myself, not anyone else. I like friction. I like debate. What I don’t like is knowing...

7/16/2025 2:33pm Funny enough, I’m reviewing a Spire right now and noticed the same thing (though to a lesser degree). I bought the bike ~4 weeks ago, and it’s clearly a COVID-era holdover. You know what? I don’t care. The 38 GRIP2 is still a killer fork, the TRP brakes are nearly top-tier, and the frame holds its own. On a similar note, the winner of NAEC was on an “outdated” Specialized Enduro. Point being: a lot of these generational changes are pretty muted in terms of real-world impact. Interest rates are up, demand has softened, innovation just not what it was...

7/14/2025 9:31pm So your friend just jams in a hub that is 9mm wider than the chainstays are designed for? What shop does he work at? Just so I can make sure I never go there.

7/11/2025 2:48pm Wild looking 32" BMC spotted making laps on the Andorra XC track for testing. Note the crazy add-on dropouts to make a 29er fork work and the custom mega-drop stem that mounts above and below the head tube, similar to drawings we've seen in this tech forum. The bike is being test ridden by BMC rider Titouan Carod, who won't be racing it this weekend, but is helping BMC test it on an actual World Cup XC track at World Cup pace (photos and factoids courtesy of the other sight). I'm posting this photo to say "I told you so"...
