+2 for me, big big agree. But I’m still waiting for those sweet, sweet slideshows to make a return. Or maybe I just need a Spotify link to that low-tempo, bass-forward track that accompanied the slideshows, so I can cue it up and scroll… Spomer can you make that happen and bring back the old timey feels?

The Main DH bikes Weve seen in the media breaking have been marketed as light DH bikes, such as the gambler (team changed to the alloy one for a bit) and pivot - both carbon, i dont think its a carbon itself issue but more of a design and choice of layup thickness etc personally my DH weighs upwards of 19kg with 500g weight under the BB. the things a rocket ship. as BK said, DH tracks are much faster these days and many of the Trek riders said not to make a carbon version of the HP session(this was...

Youve ridden an ebike for 2 yrs and still dont know that no matter how many watts and nm's there are the cut off is still 20mph/32kph on any class 1 emtb? That being said i suspect we've reached the limit. The extra nm and watts will enable you to climb a bit faster or climb more technical trail but i think we're at the end of the traction/power ratio. What the exact number is i'll reserve judgement until i try it. Im still on a 70nm e8000 and having fun and that allows me to see that an 85nm/600w...

Maybe getting rid of WB constraints of a 3/4ish minutes long track ? That would be great if regional series can on top propose more variety both style and length wise compared to the WC circuit

What exactly did Leo learn though? He was a prick to his own customers who had problems, and a prick to half the other people, and couldn't glue a frame together without it disassembling mid ride. Ok so Rocky doesn't go on the list, but GT surely does? Yes it didn't "fail" and the parent company is solvent, but it's closed indefinitely currently.

Has any brand emerged from bankruptcy and been successful? One of the only brands I've seen have a real resurgence frankly, is Marin. They make good stuff now, that is well priced and supported. Sidenote - I'm suprised Leo would try to resurrect Pole. Just find new partners, and start something new with whatever you learned. Otherwise, what's going to be different this time around?

Looks like they fixed all the non sense Brian Cahal pointed out in his review. Actually quite surprising how terribly designed that bike was knowing it was coming from Cero. This one looks way more dialed!

A few years ago, I swore I wasn't going to get one until I was 50 and my kid was old enough to want to be towed uphill. Then one of my buddies bought one for fun and trail work, and I tried it. By the end of that 3 day trip borrowing it, I was shopping online for one. I've had one for just over a year now. Basically, the right time is: * when you can afford it * when your time to get out and ride is limited, and you mostly care about the downhill * if...

It's not about age (I'm a reasonably decent pedaler at 52 and am fine on my bike) it's about increasing your fun. Sorry but pedaling up a dirt road is just overall lame, and when you get an e-bike you'll realize that wasting any extra moments doing it is just dumb.

regardless of what the clowns say, its only time when you start valuing the Fun aspect of MTB more, Hate towards ebikers is pathetic, they just want to enjoy themselves without busting their ass for atleast a year and then still get out done by ebikers in both climbing and fun. I will often buy an ebike for the winter, so i can ride at night much easier and quicker.

I got one when I was 35, already married but got 2-3 years of massive rides on the weekend before having to deal with kids. I would say, if you want to maintain the km/vert once you have a kid, and have some energy left over, e-bike is the perfect solution. That said, I know a group of younger guys in their late 20s that little by little converted to ebikes after being podium contenders in regional enduro. The days they do on strava are just nuts, they are off exploring massive loops, no problem doing multiple days in a...

Hopefully this will be a little different to the usual to eeb or not to eeb thread/debate due to the age thing Was chatting to a couple of mates about this on the weekend while out on the bikes I’m 32, riding most weekends (pretty much fire road climbs then downhill tracks) and keeping fit and healthy in the week - the eeb temptation is not coming from a lack of fitness reason, or a need of help to finish longer rides - it would purely be used as a self shuttle machine to take advantage of the highway style...

I mean I feel like the vast majority of long term reviews are by guys who are primarily riding their home trails. And the whole first look product launch is exactly what it is described as. In field shoot outs it’s common for testers to do exactly what you prescribed. Whether it’s the vital boys taking a trip to mountain creek or pinkbike using a test track somewhere in bc. I don’t think bike reviews are the end all be all of marketing. Really I think it primarily applies to people who don’t know much about the sport and are...
