I was a sort of "anti"-29ers back in the days (way before 2017...). But always loved slack and not-so-long-let's-say-just-at-my-size bikes. So now I'm on a 483mm normalized reach ("normalized reach" being the virtual reach at 600mm of stack, it's a simpler and more effective way to compare bikes), 63,4° headangle... And of course, 29" wheels. With its 78° seatangle and 440mm chainstays it's the better and easier climber I ever had (at more than 17kg). To answer directly : no, if I'd to buy a new bike the reach would be the same. It'll be maybe a touch slacker. And...

Most of the parts came from my old Mondraker as I'd invested time in the cockpit and feel. And during these covid times, I'm holding onto spare wheels, and consumables. Only replace when things break. The brakes dictated the theme. They came with purple reservoirs so I got slik graphics to make some wheel and shock decals. Peatys valve stems with cushcore. My thumbs used to hurt on long dh and SQ labs are a game changer with 12deg sweep. Only one ride old and I'm pretty enamored.

Hey Mericans. You are taking yourself to serious. Many people here do net have english as first language and where not raised in americain culture. You should accept that a joke is a joke. Is was not the best but hey, it was a joke. In my opinion this became way fo big just trough social media. Social media are bad. Very bad. France is not America. This is very hard for some people to understand. I speak French and have spent a good amount of time in France. It's a totally different culture. They look at American culture through the fog of distance and a second language. He wouldnt understand for a second why a word can be said by some people but not by others. He should obviously by educated as he is now an international athlete, but I don't hold anything against him. Live and learn.

Well I am not a racist person by any means, and I think America and Americans nowadays are way too serious and getting offended about everything! I look at that post and I see a joke, could be a bad joke, not funny whatsoever, but he’s joking about black culture/music or whatever! He’s French, I am sure he has black or Arabic friends. Let’s talk about mountain bikes instead my friend!

Can't say how they are in the Alps, as I have never ridden there. As far as emtb's being a "gimmick", doubtful. Kind of like TV's were a gimmick in the 40's I guess. I ride single track in the midwest. This is probably the best use of these emtb's bikes. The handling is GREAT. A normal rider where I ride, the difference is night and day. There is no way a regular mtb can keep up...ain't happening. Until the battery dies...lol. Maintenance wise, I have owned my bike for 9 months...I have ZERO cost other than plugging it in...

The weight for me is not even noticeable. It's a non issue basically. I raced mx so I personally like a bit more weight as I ride an emtb. The added few pounds makes it less sketchy on descents. It makes the suspension work a bit more underneath you. Not jumping all over the place. Fwiw...I have a Trek Rail 9.7. Carbon bike...Bosch g4 motor...29r. Full suspension Emtbs are the best thing to happen in this sport in 20 years. As far as emtbs causing erosion...that is a big crock of shit. Like ebikes just spin the back tire and...

How do I troll my own thread? This post is pretty tongue and cheek. I hope everyone takes it that way. But when I say you have to wait for people, I'm serious. These emtbs are incredible. Got me back on the trails after a pretty serious accident and I have more fun than I ever did on a regular mtb. Get out and ride. Don't forget to look over your shoulder occasionally. These bikes are fast.
