I will argue Good riders do more trail damage etc than worrying about where ebikes ride. Ebikes are what SUV's are for the car market.( as far as market relevance goes) if they sell 8 ebikes to 2 amish bikes they will produce more and the market will see more Ebikes. I was in the LBS yesterday picking up my 4th XT derailleur in 2 months and there were 3 people in there, they all wanted ebikes, ages were probably 30-55 just assuming/guessing based on nothing but how they held themselves. the problem your talking about lies with the person...

Rob could do commentary on his own, on a podcast, and i would mute the Discovery coverage and listen to him.

They probably were simply talking about the physical demands of throwing a heavy ass bike around on the trail. They´re easier to go uphill on, but raging down a trail, popping and pumping every root and compression they´re more physically demanding than a lightweight bike on your upper body strength.

I'll bet my left ball Shimano have some sort of drive/gearbox in one unit under prototype somewhere, this isn't just for E-mtb, but commuter, touring, road etc it just makes so much sense to use. why do they have gears, well as you know they assist the rider, they don't propel the bike without input from the rider. The mechanical advantage gears give allow the rider to pedal at a cadence and effort that will "simulate" riding a normal bike. You could have a single speed for sure, but the effeciency of the system would take a huge fall, your...

It is not logical to leave one place because it is a horrible place to live, due to thinking, actions, voting and views. Then spend all the money and aggravation to move to a new location that is run well. Then continue voting, doing and thinking the same, that turned the previous place into a horrible place? Seems stupid or insane not to learn from mistakes and change voting, thoughts and actions. The disease of leftism seems to be insidious to those unwilling (and the other unknowing victims), to objectively assess previous thinking and actions, only to be a vector...

Like many of us he has enough of Cali. After living here my whole life the dystopian and tyrannical government has become untenable. I'm doing the same. Selling the dream house and moving eastward, and at higher elevation.

Cmon, lets evaluate riders whether they have heart assist, artificial joints etc? Pedal assist is not Even close to motorized bikes, while it does help you to pedal further it will not make you better rider or will not give you still balls to shred downhill 49+Mph, to me it is absolutely equal mtb and emtb

I take wikipedia with a grain of salt, have you ridden a moped? You don't use the pedals to propel it, there for getting the engine started. Maybe if you run out of gas then you would have to use the pedals to propel it but honestly you will go faster if you push it. lol.

I watched the video a few times. There's a lot said and a lot to address, but I'm going to just respond to the points pointed out by Vital. 1)Do eMTB’s do more damage to trails than regular analog pedal bikes? Joe cites that there has been very little, to no real, research done. While he feels the impact is no different from a regular mountain bike, data talks and BS walks. - The problem is, so many eMTB haters prefer to judge ignorantly than to actually comprehend any data presented to them. A lot of eMTB haters bring up...

To all of you whining about others & how they(or might not use there eBikes)might use there eBikes think how your not out using your pedal/push bike because your here whining about them & your own imaginary concerns of eBikes. Or are you just jealous of them because you can’t afford one of your own? So before the snow happens again I’m heading out for a ride hope you all are having a great weekend get out & ride!

Cheating. This is a sentiment that continues to come up. Why does everybody care or feel like it is cheating? Are they cheating you and your strava times? Do you feel like the e-bike rider is cheating themselves? Or is your ego hurt when you get passed by some fat guy who just got turned into Nino? But if it's a cancer patient, it's now OK? Like wtf, can't you just worry about yourself?

Upon hearing his #4 proposal I will never again purchase a trek product. Shredding is the point of the sport, this mans view is irrelevant.

Building trails specific for e-bikes is a terrible idea. There aren't enough biking trails already. If they start getting built for e-bikes only, imagine how butt hurt everyone will be. Look how butt hurt everyone is already.
