I've had this groupo for about 8 months (you could get it from Europe before the delayed USA release). While I agree with everything in this review, I feel like there's a piece of info left out. The bite point on my enduro 4 piston XTR brakes changes on long descents (or when...more

So by your comparison of XTR to GX, you might as well take the next step and say I can't see how XX1 is any better than GX.

I'm quite tired of the finicky b-tension of eagle. I feel like it constantly needs to be adjusted and doesn't hold an adjustment for very long. XTR is going on a bike this week and eagle is on another. It will be good to compare but if I get less frequent drivetrain issues, I'd give 5 stars.

And it's honestly nice to see something on Vital that doesn't get 4 stars. Everything gets 4 stars.

Does everything have to come down to grams? Coil shocks arguably provide better performance than air shocks and it comes with a weight penalty

Should Shimano only be selling 11 speed because Sram came to the market first with 12 speed and nothing would be considered innovative? Do you want 60t and the derailleur dragging on the ground? Or were you expecting the Shimano Samuri 14 speed?

Many reviews have been done on the new XTR 12 and the general consensus is that it shifts better than Eagle, particularity under load. Also, there is less of a jump between low gears on the Shimano 12.

I'm always looking for balance in my suspension setup. I've owned the V10.6 and the bike is really progressive. I found that at 30% sag the bike felt like it got bogged down in every hole so I ran a much higher spring rate in the rear to get it riding ... more ยป

After zooming in, the shock mount looks to be the same as the alloy 29 with the open triangle design whereas the carbon 27.5 sitting behind it is solid.

Did you suspension correct the front end for the added fork height? What kind of alterations do you think you'd make to dial it in?

I can't get the audio for any of the bike checks to play on my Android phone. On the other hand, the audio from the race reports and the Martin Mae's interview plays just fine.

Gee is using less rebound and it rebounds faster giving him a lively setup. Bruni said he uses more rebound which means slower.

Bruni said he runs more rebound, so, it would be slower. Bruni's bike always looks like it's glued to the ground. gee's bike looks like it was skipping around all over the place.

More rebound means slower rebound. For example on a Fox fork, there is a plus and minus. When you turn toward the plus, you are turning clockwise, closing off the circuit, making rebound slower. Same thing with compression, when you have more of it, it doesn't make it compress more, it makes it harder to compress.

I've noticed as reach becomes longer, it becomes harder to compresss the rear suspension because you're weight is being pulled away from the pivot point.
