I am almost certain Specialized are trying to get rid of as much 3.1 motors and battery stock as possible before 2027 which explains the Levo R, Evo and X releases. Ever since Yamaha (Giant's ebike partner) purchased Brose I have assumed Specialized would try and move away from Brose as soon as possible. Who they decide to work with next I don't know but I think we will see an eCVT powered Levo next year. I don't think Specialized want to get caught behind the curve again like they did with the Levo 4 after it got delayed.

I run Revgrips and bought a pair of the Wolftooths a couple of days ago. You could run them stock with Revs but there will be a big gap where the collar is so not at all ideal. I think you could clearance the round seat that is supposed to lock onto the bar to make room for the Rev collar but that will require removing quite a bit of material. Definitely a bit disappointing as the Rev and bar end combo could be really good. I have a set of new Oneup Goldstone grips on my workbench and that...

It goes in the right direction for thickness, but definitely not for quality.. Stamped rotor for that price? Nah. In the end, once the rotor is bedded in, it probably provides 99% of the power of a laser cut rotor, but it takes longer to bed in, looks horrible and worst of all, cheap. Aliexpress rotors that cost 10% look way better .... Do better Shimano, you're lagging way behind everyone else.

~$500 dollars for a set of ‘DH’ crowns to ‘upgrade’ your dual crown forks which should have already been optimized for DH is diabolical. Let me just make my $2000 forks 25% more expensive because I got sold inferior crowns.

I can’t speak to any specific instance but the shear number of DSQs this weekend is unusual and I have a few hunches. It’s easier to tell where you left the track. Whether because of damaging the tape of just the additional visual information. Earlier someone also mentioned that tape helps you see which direction the trail is going whenever there’s a blind crest and I think that’s true as well. Obviously racer’s are tasked with memorizing the track but the brain is weird and this strikes me as a pointless hazard that could be remedied with short taped sections...

Good for Luca to grab a win, perservance there for sure. Also two different American winners back to back, has that ever happened? Hell have there even been two different Americans to win one in a single season? Finally if they're going to just do the commentary in a studio somewhere can they get a team that understands the assignment? I feel like most of us would do a better job at being insightful, plus their timing is just ridiculous off pace, splits happening and 30 seconds until they even notice it while they're still blabbing about if they can...

These green poles are truly one of the worst changes of this post-Red Bull era. While the tapes provided a perfect perspective of the track, making it easier to see the curves and obstacles, these green poles are the opposite, difficult to see, often camouflaged in the green of the vegetation or tree shadows. Take the case of the excellent track in South Korea; the poles are placed like a chess game, making the track super difficult to see... curiously, the tape continues in UCI XCO and in all other world-class Downhill championships as well... before, with the tape, it...

While I don’t think Jackson would have been saved from going out from having poles with tape, I do think they need to bring it back. Any time there is a crest with a corner after your shooting in the dark and having to use visual markers in the background to know where to go. The stall wall is a good example, riders can’t see where to aim because the poles are a foot tall. Dak also mentions MSA had a ton of these last year, making it really hard.

Wyn, would be great, they really need to sort the commentary out, its absolutely abysmal. Ric talks some amount of absolute pish, and they really need to be on site and have at least one of the commentators going round the pits and speaking to the riders in the run up to the race and be able to offer some interesting insights.

I’m so glad I’ve never had to ride in a trail area that doesn’t have dedicated one way mtb trails. It seems like it just causes so many problems.

I hope this spurs riders and teams to complain about the poles enough to get them thrown into the trash heap of terrible ideas forever
