Trying to understand how you got the weight so low...   which maxxis sidewall have you used in the build?  i.e. EXO, DD, DH?

They’re 2.8 x 27.5 Exo on 40i LB carbon rims with Tune hubs and Berd spokes. I’m easy on my wheels so I can get away with them without any issues, even on black trails and bike park. But that’s only part of the weight loss. The whole build, every part was chosen with weight in mind, while still being durable for me. If you look at the whole build spec, it’s the reason it’s that light. The weight savings for each individual part might not seem like a lot, but the combined savings all add up. Other than the fork and shock, everything else is about as light as you can get. 😁🍺

Did you weight the frame/power unit/battery combo alone by any chance?

I weighed the frame/motor/shock without the battery and it was 17.99lbs with the stock Rockshox shock and complete ride wrap. So add 10lbs for the 750w battery and the weight would be 27.99lbs. I also weighted it with a Fox X2 and a headset, but without the ride wrap or battery and it was 18.03lbs. So the Fox was slightly heavier, but the ride wrap was 150g, so it evened out removing that.

Thanks mate, much appreciated. I am flirting with this idea to fit a Rohloff Speedhub instead of the usual setup and wanted to start calculating how heavy would be this setup. 

I am curious why you have gone with the 27.5 wheelset? On purpose to save weight or you simply transfered them from a different build?

Nice man! I’m on full 27.5 x 2.8 because I’m a little on the shorter side, (5’7) and I just like smaller and wider wheels. I they’re lighter, stronger, accelerate faster and brake shorter and they handle quicker. And with the excellent long travel suspension, rollover is great too. 👍🏼

Hey bud bike looks awesome ,I see you’ve put speed sensor in just wondering how you fixed it as I ordered a speed sensor and there was no fixing bracket ,also how is ground clearance on 27.5 kind regards

I ordered my frameset with the swingarm sensor/rotor magnet and it came installed and programmed for it so I didn’t need to do anything. It’s just a small plastic bracket that mounts to the inside of the swingarm, I added a pic of it too the bike check. As for the ground clearance with 27.5, it’s not too bad since the bb is higher to start with and I’m using 2.8’s so it’s not much lower than a full 29er. 😎👍🏼
