Additional Info

My first XC rig. Time will tell if it’s actually faster than the TrailCat on the XC trails. It’s a little porky for an XC bike. My old Santa Cruz TRc was 4 pounds lighter.
The Red RockShox Pike was very intentional. It slackens and raises the front and BB slightly. Both pluses in my book.
The Madrone Jab derailleur has been very good. I have tried it with SRAM Transmission, SRAM XX mechanical, Shimano XTR, and now this SRAM Shimano mix. Unfortunately I can’t find a shift mix mount for Formula to I- spec Shimano. With any luck I’ll score another set of Intend Trinity’s and solve that issue. The Jab shifts very well in all variants. The clutch is very good. Chain length and B tension are critical for good performance.
The I9 Solix wheels have been great this is my second set. My first set has over 1500 miles on them and haven’t missed a beat.
This set of Formula Curas sintered pads has now been on 4 bikes. They just work. Never need bled and run true. Super easy to bleed when needed. Slightly more power than SRAM Code RSCs. Admittedly a lot of brake for this bike but it’s what I had.
BikeYoke Dropper seat posts I have 5 of these some up to 8 seasons old all work very well.
Tires make the most difference when it comes to to the speed of a bike. Finding a combo that is fast and durable enough to survive our rocky trails can be challenging. Oh and I need to be able to turn and stop yes actually STOP. Is that even possible to ask from an XC race tire? I’ll be trying out a bunch of combos to see what works best for me.
