MOTO13 Added a reply to eBike hubs....seen this before?
12/22/2021 12:50pm I am surprised you didn't end up with your teeth rubbing on the front tire. Luckily the rear wheel didn't lock up on you. This is just not paying attention to normal maintenance. The bolts had to have been loose as shit for a while to have this happen. Maybe that was the rattling sound you were hearing for the...

MOTO13 Started a new thread The HUGE downside of EMTB's
11/1/2021 11:58am The worst thing about EMTBs that nobody mentions is...riding with people who still ride regular bikes...the constant waiting for them to catch up. It really is a problem that needs to be addressed.

10/25/2021 12:36pm Some great comments. I'm on my 2nd ebike. I sold my first (Scott eGenius) to my friend who left mtb a loooong time ago for moto. Long story short he sold his moto and loves the ebike, and now we are riding together quite often. Where we hadn't ridden together in like 10 years. I still have a regular mtb. Depends on the terrain, zone, legality, I ride both. I recently had a neck injury thing and couldn't do much, so I'm REALLY out of shape. The ebike makes me actually want to go out and ride. And to get...

MOTO13 Added a reply to Thoughts on buying Optibike R15c?
10/8/2021 12:27pm Looks like a GREAT bike and looks like a lot of fun...but NOT on public MTB trails. Private land, no problem. MTB trails were never meant to have a bike with a friggin throttle doing 35++ mph on them. I love the entire pedal assist deal. It's when you when you start putting throttles on them and calling them a...

10/6/2021 3:08pm Whatever you do...buy a bike with the Bosch Gen4 motor. I have a Husky HC7 with an EP8 and a Trek 9.7 with the Bosch. The Bosch is simply a better motor. Punchy bottom...good overrun...great accel...manageable. The EP8 is very good, just not great like the Bosch.

10/5/2021 1:00pm Anyone who thinks that Emtb's are a flash in the pan is insane. Emtb's are the future, here to stay, WAY faster than acoustic and A LOT more fun. Hopefully everyone of you people that hate emtb's also hate the new RS Flight Attendant. You know, you shouldn't have an electrical advantage because you didn't earn it and it's not...

Got another emtb about a month ago. Not ugly. Bike rips.

7/19/2021 7:09am Well...LW just did a comparison with the Marin emtb and reg bike. It wasn't even close. Off road moped and nothing bike about it...lol. That's kind of funny. Some people like riding slow.

7/18/2021 4:23am I ride about 4 times a week, about half of them alone. So to maximise my downhill time the e-bike is a no brainer. much better to slam out a 800m/2000ft climb in 30mins than grind up a road with yourself for company. basically doubles my descending time for a given ride. These two rides are both just under two hours and have super steep rocky descents with wet roots. Ebike gobbles up the gnar and does't get knocked offline. Grip is unreal. used about 70% battery on both. I'm 85kg/187freedom units. Bike is Ransom E-ride, Bosch CX and 625Wh...

MOTO13 Added a reply to Best front AND rear tire
7/17/2021 4:40am Maxis minion dhf front and rear. Ride single track in the dry only. I get zero front push, bike tracks fr and rear great. Rear traction is always predictable. Running 26 to 28 psi.

7/16/2021 7:23am Locking up a rear wheel most likely had nothing to do with being an emtb. It has to do with locking up the rear brake over steep drops. But you jumped on the fact they were simply riding emtb's. We've all locked up the brake on occassion. Sometimes by accident. Even you once or twice I bet. People like you...

7/16/2021 6:37am I have no clue what kind of emtb you rode, mine feels agile and I ride single track in the midwest. Agility is kind of important. And then you say the emtb only came alive after hitting 30 mph? The motors are speed limited to 20 mph assist in the states. So maybe your suspension wasn't dialed at all or...

7/16/2021 6:17am Quite possibly the single stupidest post on the net. More people showing up, buying bikes and learning how to ride is interfering with "your" domain? Lol...ok. How are people supposed to learn? Maybe they should call you up and ask for permission to ride on days that you're not there. God knows you never had to learn a new sport...

7/15/2021 7:21pm just rolled my eyes so hard they fell down my throat and into my tumtum dude. eMTBs are there. They're there on the ups and they're there on the downs. If your friend was in shape, he would've roasted you so hard he'd be challenging strangers on the internet. OP is right, it's actually really hard to tone down an eeb ride enough to ride with pure(ist) pedalers. Shimano's ECO mode will pedal away from everyone but 50bpm resting heartrate guys, tryhards on cross bikes, leaving intra-motor riders even more exhausted from the logistical related rate math problems of rendezvous...

7/15/2021 2:28pm Yeah man! I see more and more of them in the woods around here. I plan to get one when I'm old. Hope the price adjusts to a more comfortable level. I was recently on a bike trip out west (Breckenridge) and the black line bus driver to Peak 8 stopped midway up the hill to ask who had the e-bike? A woman raised her hand and the driver put her out on the street right there stating they are too heavy for the bike rack, although the driver had helped load it up! The weight thing is bullshit, she...

7/15/2021 2:28pm Weight of the rider makes a huge difference on climbing vertical one can get in on the eeb. I can get 4500' without fail on my 500wh battery E8000 Commencal. From talking to others of similar fitness and weight as I am I could get 7000' pretty easily on a 700wh Specialized and probably just a touch under on a 630wh Bosch. 625wh Shimano ep8 maybe 6k but Shimano does not have the same efficiency. Point is JVP if you are fit you can get lot's of climbing in. Also count me in the camp for having way more fun...

7/14/2021 6:22am I guess emtbs are something you either love or have no use for. Me, coming from a moto background, the fun factor was amped up by 500%. I can go faster, ride longer and with far less fatigue or problems with my previous injuries. Like I have said, I ride single track (one way) exclusively. But these trails also have...

7/13/2021 10:32am Can't say how they are in the Alps, as I have never ridden there. As far as emtb's being a "gimmick", doubtful. Kind of like TV's were a gimmick in the 40's I guess. I ride single track in the midwest. This is probably the best use of these emtb's bikes. The handling is GREAT. A normal rider where I...
