Really interesting podcast about/with Rose bikes from Escape Collective; I'd heard of the brand but never knew much about them. https://share.transistor.fm/s/8910c296 Some key stats: Been around for 107 years Have never taken a loss (like, what!?) ~€205M annual revenue ~650 employees "Family owned, management run" Managed to pull off 2% growth in 2025 AND migrate to an ERP at the same time (would love a deeper dive on that alone!)

Nah, April Fools is totally a thing we’re doing here too. For us Germans, it’s one of the extremely rare occasions when our culture permits you to act a little silly or pull a good-natured prank on your workplace colleagues and not get the condescending stare of death in return.

I do not believe the rumors about chisels and epic evos being done. Specialized straight up lied when they released the stumpy 15, saying they were not going to release an Evo. A rep let slip that they were saving the moniker for “something special” but “official sources” kept saying “oh no no stumpy Evo just a stumpy from here on out.” Obviously that was not the case. Brands are fighting viciously to clear old inventory, and the worst thing that could happen to a 2022 chisel sitting on a sales floor somewhere is news of a new chisel on...

European retailer just leaked new Marin downcountry bike. Marin TAM XR - 2026 – Simple Bike Store Not the prettiest frame I've ever seen but with the rumored death of the Chisel I'd say there is space for an aluminum DC rig. 130mm front, 65 degree HTA. Release date looks like 4/17 according to the Marin website.

Had an interesting chat yesterday, during a group ride with a product manager from Conti. Apparently management of the bicycle division at Conti is not yet convinced that 32"-wheels will become a mainstream wheelsize, let alone are even here to stay. The guy told me that he personally believes this to be a repetition of the 650B-Plus situation. Conti anticipates...

Unfortunately I'm an idiot, so I'll answer your question even if it is sarcastic. I found a known value that's easy to measure, the rear brake rotor. I set it to 203mm (as mentioned in a bike check from my memory) 16.2cm = 6.377 inch, rounded up however the app used rounds things and also not a perfect angle. Closest match for phone size would be a Iphone 16/17 pro max at 16.3 cm or a google pixel 9/10 at 6.3 inches. I'm going to go with the iphone 16/17 pro max. I should touch grass. I'm also either going...

Just got this from Knolly: A Message from Noel Buckley I'm going to keep this simple because you deserve that. The last few years have been the hardest this industry has ever seen, and Knolly has not been immune. But we have been fighting through it: restructuring costs, tightening operations, and doing the difficult work of right-sizing the business to match a new reality. We were making progress. That progress was cut short. Our bank, RBC, has made the decision to call in our account. This comes at a time when RBC is posting record annual profits, $20.4 billion last...

Hot take but I hope the Forbidden bike doesn’t have internal storage. I’ve never owned a bike with internal storage. Also never carry ANY tools with me (I don’t really go on huge rides) I probably have to walk back to the car once every couple of years. Bikes are pretty good these days. Im biased but I don’t get too turned on by internal storage. Anyways, would a XC/DC bike be the perfect candidate for internal storage or nah? The whole point is to be light. Seems like skipping it would mean a lighter bike, easier to manufacture, less...

Reformed xc guy here. When I was on 29 and my riding buddy was on 27.5 (both xc hardtails) the acceleration advantage of the 27.5 was impossible to ignore just as the momentum of the 29 was. For trail riding the 27.5 looked more fun in more places while the 29 just hauled the mail when things straightened out a bit or went down hill. I fully expect the same “revelations” in all of the 32” bike reviews to come out this year.

At 6 foot 4 I have no idea why ppl keep saying big wheels are good for taller riders. The terrain you are riding on doesn't get bigger ?? Il fight you all day on stack height not being proportional , but it’s getting better and it’s fixable with the new crop of 80mm plus bars. Big wheels dont help bigger ppl, buy a bigger , longer frame ??? And enjoy the riding the trail rather than steam rolling it ?
