2/20/2026 10:20am My Specialized contact says no new Epic any time soon. And why would they. It's widely considered to be the benchmark of its class.

2/19/2026 7:02am Mountain bikers HATE that four bar doesn't mean what they think it means. horst? 4 bar. DW? 4 bar. VPP? 4 bar. Maestro? 4 bar. linkage driven single pivot? 4 bar. Delta? 4 bar. First gen Yeti Switch? 4 bar. It goes on. It's a pointlessly generic term to use and if you use it then nobody is really sure exactly what you mean. It's like calling your tire a wheel. "but mountain bikers use the term differently!"... Differently than what it means? Cool...

2/19/2026 7:01am I'm sorry this is pedantic but every VPP and DW link suspension design is already a four bar linkage

2/18/2026 3:03am From that angle it looks surprisingly similar to a Scott Spark from 2017

2/18/2026 3:00am There's a bunch of new models on the horizon: -New Propain Tyee (apparently it's going mid-travel, with 145mm of suspension travel) -The new Norco is indeed the new Sight VLT (150 mm e-bike, features the TQ-motor) -New Giant Stance E+ (entry- to mid-level e-bike with 140 mm of travel) -New, different version of the Specialized Levo, called the Levo 4...

2/17/2026 2:35pm “Onshoring” and “No new investments” are kinda mutually exclusive, aren’t they? I work with a few people who have worked for Rapha in the last 7 years. That brand is super duper marketing heavy, in terms of where the money goes. It’s painful to think how the marketing investments over the last 7 years could have more than paid for building and buying the assets to cut stitch and sew clothing in closer to just-in-time and less seasonal/collection based model. About 10 years ago I consulted for a domestic stitch and sew outfit that was inporting italian thread and fabric...

2/16/2026 10:50am While 435 is short, it still makes sense on steep trails and for a playful ride. You can always go to 444mm via the flip chip and while those are definitely not the longest stays there is nothing to rage about. The geo is slightly conservative, but far from 2010. Don't make a mountain out of a molehill.

2/16/2026 10:47am Fortune: Walton Owned RZC PE firm pauses all new investments Rapha just managed to squeek out their barf-inducing USAC kit and Allied managed to launch their new imported flimsy flyer before the Home Office from the Home Office said “no mas” to Steu and Thom’s vanity projects… Don’t let the door hit ya on the way out boys!

2/12/2026 12:38pm Mickey this was awesome, and true IMO; And I realize I'm replying to a week old post and have not read the next page but your post inspired me. The amount of people who think all mechanical objects are made by magic wizards has always astounded me. A counter point would be (and I admit I am 1 whole page and 1 whole week behind on the forum) that what you've described as basic skills could really be extended to most professional tasks. I broke out my multimeter to check out what was broken on my heat pump for my...

2/12/2026 12:38pm The sarcastic Charlie response is that Markus continues to find new and creative ways to get his face in front of people's eyeballs. I would imagine the measured Jeff Brines response is that, nevertheless, here we are talking about Markus and YT again.

2/12/2026 12:16pm I think we’re going to see 2 distinct types of bike manufacturers moving forward 1: Brands that sell enough e-bikes to cash roll standard bike progress/development. Full non e-bike lineups 2: Brands that want to make as much money as possible, huge e-bike lineup, fewer and fewer non e-bike options. 1 or 2 frames that cover everything from trail to enduro with the help of interchangeable shock mounts and links. (New fuel type stuff) XC and DH frame development is safe. Development will continue. If Bruni or Blevins dominate, those e-bikes will be flying off the shelves lol.

2/12/2026 12:13pm Where do analog bikes need innovation? Also how is adding a motor not a massive innovation to bikes, akin to suspension and gears? Edit: these are sincere questions. Curious what you think…

2/12/2026 12:11pm I'd say that's very unlikely. From what I've heard it's been one of Specialized's best selling non-motorized models in 2025 in many markets. If anything in the current Specialized line-up is likely to be axed, it would be the Epic World Cup and the Enduro.

2/12/2026 11:51am I just ordered a Chisel. Originally was going for an Epic Evo but there were none. Went for an Epic and then a Chisel Evo as well. The only thing left in stock in medium between anything in the Epic/Chisel line under 8k was a Chisel comp in one color, so I'm guessing something's coming down the pipe for those models as well unless specialized is finally doing a low stock year to try and kill old inventory. There were a mix other sizes but for bread and butter level bikes in mediums and larges were all low or out...
