8/18/2026 4:40am The way I remember 29ers arriving, I'm pretty sure the decision was made by the industry to commit before riders really had the chance to vote with their wallets.... They had been around for a while on the fringe, but once more mainstream brands started getting in to it, the switch happened pretty quick and you can't just spin up a new bike model in a few months so they had to have committed years before that..... So if we start seeing the big suspension brands committing to 32" products.......

8/17/2026 9:12am I'm honestly so done with the bike industry changing standards for literally no good reason other than having new stuff to sell. No one asked for 32" - nobody is asking for 30,5". At this point, all of this looks like a marketing exercise to make our current bikes seem inadequate and to FOMO-pressure us into buying more stuff we...

8/16/2026 6:20am It's friday and that sounds like the perfect time to start a fight about wheel sizes again! Not exactly MTB, but Cube is supposedly dropping a 32" gravel in it's 2027 lineup. Saw this image floating around, first brand to commit to 30.5" ? Would hate to be an inventory manager right now...

8/14/2026 2:46am Medium-travel Yeti incoming. Release iminent. Long-chainstay fans rejoice: Size L has a 450mm rear center. Geometry is very middle-of-the-road otherwise, in a good way. Size L has 480mm reach. Stack could be a little taller, I guess (- 635mm for Size L).

8/13/2026 11:31pm I know Lapierre is still a desirable brand making quality bicycles (whether they exist in the middle of the barbell, not withstanding), but I looked up Raleigh's current product lineup on their website, and my how the mighty have fallen. It wasn't that long ago that everyone I knew had a Raleigh Furley for commuting or riding cyclocross, but now Raleigh is just generic mass-market Walmart bikes with the Raleigh label slapped on them. Ironically the Union Jack flag is still flying proudly all over the website, even though these bikes have as much to do with the UK as...

8/11/2026 3:14pm How did we ever have fun riding bikes as kids before batteries and motors? What a terrible childhood I must have had.

8/11/2026 3:10pm This is a lot of cool stuff packed into one aftermarket damper, and if it works as advertised that would be unreal for puzzlers and tweekers like me. I'm really curious to learn more about how the "tune adjuster" works, because I too don't understand what it means when they say the "t une Adjuster provides seven different base tunes." Obviously we're not changing shim stacks with the turn of a knob, so I'm curious what they mean when they're refering to a base tune vs. an adjustment.

8/11/2026 3:09pm Introducing the ZETA Damping Cartridge by SIMONS.LAB Externally adjustable compression and rebound tunes, Hydraulic Bottom-Out packaged in a drop-in cartridge design: ZETA is now available for FOX 38, RockShox ZEB and Intend upside-down suspension forks. Many riders know the situation: changes to the compression or rebound damping do not produce the desired effect on the trail, or an improvement in one area comes with noticeable compromises elsewhere. This is often caused by the predefined internal base tune found in conventional suspension forks. External adjusters can fine-tune this base tune, but they cannot fundamentally change it. If the tune does not...

8/8/2026 8:36am My only take away from that site is that Thomus bikes must be unbearable to ride if a fake vibration damping sticker makes an improvement.

8/8/2026 8:34am Wait a second, is that actually one of the extremely rare size S5 frames? I heard there was only ever a single production batch of about 30 frames. How did you manage to get one?

8/6/2026 4:40pm When I saw your post about Accell Group going into insolvency, I thought Diamondback would be one of the brands listed in the insolvency agreement alongside Raleigh. I remembered Accell owning Diamondback (another brand that we've observed to be struggling mightily in this thread), but I didn't see it on the list in the Reuters or BikeBiz.com articles about the recent insolvency agreement for Accell. Turns out Accell sold Diamondback and Redline (their US businesses) way back in 2019. Even if Accell still have a Diamondback landing page on their website: This is all a surprise to me. I either...

8/6/2026 7:06am So, the industry starts trying to sell us on 32" wheels (- which are effectively a whole new eco system of parts and standards, requiring a pretty steep buy-in) just as the mountainbike sector stops growing. Coincidence?

8/6/2026 7:00am Some employees of Intend BC have also been riding Intend forks fitted with modified Flight Attendant damper modules. It's probably not too difficult to make Flight Attendant work with non-Rockshox forks.
