This is the first i'm hearing of the Megattacks. I might have to try and track a set down to compare to the meaty paws.

Deity Supracush FTW. I consistently come back to them on all my bikes, I just really like the compound and the thickness is spot on for me. They tend to wear out semi-quickly (and they don't love wet conditions once they do), but I'll take that to get the awesome comfort and grip while they last. If you need a THICK grip, you should really try the Megattack, same excellent compound in an even thicker grip.

I’m a meaty paws guy but i admit I’m interested in trying the new ergons. Though I like that meatypaws are also longer than most grips. Great for anytime you take a hand off a Bar or if your brakes are fading and you need to change to a full grip to get something.

I am also a large handed person and was running ergon thicker grips until I found the meaty paw. That has been my go to for the last few years. I tried the OneUp thick grips and hated them.

That Fluid Focus piston is actually a PUSH piston that we used to sell them as part of our DXH Factory Tuning Kit. I've seen that piston offered by a couple of independent suspension tuners that we used to sell to. Once we stopped offering those types of products, a number of tuners took the parts to local machine shops and had them reverse-engineered because they already had all of the valve codes to go with them.

@Amart1500 and @bigbrett , please join me in harassing Raaw to make an XXL downcountry bike in the comments on the Pinkbike article from today. And for everyone else... I'll shut up about XXLs now. But Santa Cruz better be planning an XXL Tallboy!

Hi, long time WC media guy here (14 years long).. I'm also very curious to hear some names and facts about this from you But in the meantime let me share some of my own. Each team is allowed to register photographers and videographers (each team then receives a set number of photo and video bibs for the season). if someone doesnt work for a team they can register as independent media once they have letters of assignment from a verified media outlet. there are little to no restrictions as to what can be shot/posted. This hasnt changed since the...

As someone who was there from the very beginning (okay EWS #2), I think the story arc of EWS/EDR is a bit more complex that people think, and that Chis Ball is not the boogie man some make him out to be. EWS was not just Chis Ball, it was a run by a board, with Chis as the most public facing member of the organization. Keep in mind that in 2013 enduro racing was seen as an exciting new sport (yes I know, it wasn't new in France and Italy) and the timing was perfect with new wheel sizes...

Number of bikes shouldn't matter. 1) The warranty rate is probably very low, all things considered. So your net cost is measured in the 4 digit range. 2) Transition has shown the world how warranty should work in a D2C (or hybrid) environment. It really isn't even that hard. Always make sure the customer is happy and make it easy for things to get fixed in a timely fashion. Again...its not hard.

In honor of the 1000th page, we should vote on the best meme of 2025: 👍🏻 for “Crab” 👎🏻 for “6-7” edit: Carcinization is the antithesis of innovation. Maybe we should keep crab talk on the crab talk forum and keep this thread focused on MTB tech rumors and/or innovation.

Their enduro team was done last year but they graciously kept me on board for this year with my contract having another year on it. Sounds obvious of course, but the bike industry isn't always so giving. The DH team took me in and I had a blast all year long, which was the main reason for doing DH at the end of the year. I just wanted to hang out with the team some more, and who wouldn't take the chance to race World Cup DH while they can. As for next year, stay tuned.

Alrighty.....so, for starters the Telum is a premium product that anyone who buys it will EXPECT nothing but perfect performance, reliability and support from the manufacturer and supplier. No one is creaming it in the bike industry, especially mechanics and things are normally priced in line with global recommended retails set by the manufacturer. If they tried to mark things up too far it won't last very long for them..... There are certain brands I sell which I invest thousands in tooling, parts and springs for and know every single part inside out, so if a rider has a problem...

So it looks like I blew my Telum in Whistler over closing weekend. Didn't leak oil or anything, and there was still a difference between climb and descend positions, but was super clunky and noisy at the top end. Still rode it through the weekend, but now it's in the shop getting serviced. I'll give an update when they can tell me what went sideways. I'm going to (kind of) blame myself for this one though as I had a big summer on the bike (Kamloops trip to start the season, Legacy bike park x2, France for two weeks of...

I'm testing a Telum right now for Vital, and I will say I'm super impressed and would recommend to anyone who's not afraid to turn knobs. The base settings are good, although the recommended spring rate was maybe 30 pounds higher than what I settled on (YMMV). The ability to fine tune the shimstacks on HSC and HSR without taking the shock apart is amazing to me, saves $250 on a retune every time I want to play with the Rapid Revalve settings. Super cool shock. Only gripes so far are price (duh), weight (don't care), and I've gone through...

Hey look what I found in the parts bin: This was one of the last things I worked on at RS before I left... goal was to control big hits by weakening or slowing down the return of the air spring. I run my setup with a lot of spring and no damping, so getting bucked on big hits is part of the deal. This thing 'gulps' all the air in the positive chamber on compression and lets it out with a tiny delay (since it all has to go through the tiny hole to get out). No delay on...
